Because it helps tell characters apart in comics.

Which also explains why characters don't *necessarily* need them as much in live action: you don't need the same visual shorthand to make characters identifiable despite varying artists and styles.

Which is why, IMO, you see people complaining about Danny Rand, but not Jessica Jones or Luke Cage. While the latter two don't wear costumes in the shows, they *do* have clear visual identities and aesthetics. They may lack costumes, but they have good, effective and appealing "non-costumes", so to speak. Whereas Danny Rand simply lacks any coherent visual identity. His clothes and style don't say anything about him, or even just deliver an attractive image.

In story, its because Luke Cage doesn't really hide himself in that manner. He's about standing up, publicly, and daring people to come at him.

Out of story, its because Luke Cage stopped wearing a costume in the comics a long time ago, and his iconic image has simply shifted.
that and inthe books there are three other factors.

1)Before getting married to Jessica beside iron fist , misty and Colleen, no one in Harlem lived near or in the same building him.
where they be in dangered for living in the same building as him and he did get attacked a lot.( he live in certain place with danny as their HQ before he got a bar that he rans as side thing.)

And he was too well known with his powers after getting out of jail and doing what he did.

So it's kinda too late pointless and his family members before he went jail disowned him when he went there. So those are reasons too.

Just finished my re-watch of all the shows yesterday. Anybody do the same?

I'm part way through Daredevil Season 2. Going to watch Jessica Jones after and part of Luke Cage. Not going back to Iron Fist.

Everyone should watch Iron Fist again late at night if they can't sleep. Particularly episode 1.

I can respect your opinions. Iron Fist was far from perfect but I still enjoyed it. I gave it a 7/10. I'm looking forward to his role in Defenders and season 2. I'm very glad that Buck is gone and hoping for the best with this new showrunner. That's enough about Iron Fist solo show though. I can't believe that Defenders is almost here guys!!!

Is it just me or does Daredevil's mask look different somehow? I mean, in his season 2 update, we saw him having like these red lens for his mask but now it seems like they've been taken out and covered completely in his Defenders mask.

hard to say from that image alone. I think in the footage we see of him in costume in the second trailer, it looks similar to what he had in season 2.

Yeah I definitely think it's the same mask from season 2.

Well I guess we'll have to wait and see until the episodes debut before we can get a closer look at his outfit.

On another note, I'm starting to think that the potential "final fight" involving the group taking their last stand against the Hand will be the sequence involving them all underground (where Danny has his shirt split open as we see his Iron Fist tattoo), unless of course the producers have really kept their cards close to their chest and have another big sequence in mind that they haven't revealed yet.

I also hope that they finally address what a "Black Sky" is and what makes them so dangerous that Stick would be willing to murder a child for it.

I still have no idea on how the Hand plans on taking on Luke Cage because they've only used Swords thus far and we all know that it's ineffective against his powers.

It looks a *little* thinner to me, but I suspect that's just poster photoshopping.

Great group and great shot
