Yeah, I think my main concern with Snoke is less that I wanted more of a role from him, because Andy Serkis' performance as Emperor 2.0 was quite good and he's ultimately there for Kylo Ren's development...it's more that he's clearly presented as some ancient and powerful Dark Side user and these films don't exist in a bubble. Where did this guy come from? Why wasn't he in the OT and PT etc...little stuff like that kind of bugs me and a brief line of dialogue could have corrected that.

Oh brother I am with you. It begs LOTS of questions but they may be moot going forward from TLJ. On the other hand, I see lots of speculation about "broom kid" (who I guess is the new "Crane Dad" ) being tied into Johnson's stand alone trilogy (which... given how much studios fear the fanboy social media screeching... You think that is in jeopardy now?) but thinking on it now... Maybe Johnson's trilogy will be what touches on and expands Snoke?

I could see Johnson getting crazy with it, especially knowing that his new trilogy will be wholly seperate from the Skywalker saga. I'd imagine whatever it is will feature some kind of exploration of the Force like we saw in TLJ, Snoke could well factor into that point whilst also picking up with the Broom Kid and the future of the Force. He could really do whatever he wants, and with the money and critical acclaim this one's collected so far, I think the fan outcry won't mean too much in the long run.

There are all different amounts they can give as far as years go. This guy had 20 years at first which means he could have had time off for good behavior and parole granting him exit from prison much earlier than that. Now he is serving life which means he has to do a minimum of 20 years before the possibility of parole becomes available.
