Not sure how I feel about that if true cause then that goes back to the other rumor that Latveria has been reinvented as a Mediterranean nation with some rumored history with Namors peopleRumor going around the Twitter campfire is Javier Bardem has been quietly cast as Dr Doom.

"Latveria" is very clearly a Central/Eastern Europe name. You couldn't pass that off as Mediterranean if you tried.
Another thing I don't get is they kept Wakanda spot on...a technological African nation...when I saw it brought to life, I was in awe...I said Kirby would have been so proud to see it done justice....
I want the same for Latveria and more so cause it's long overdue to see a village/nation right out of a Karloff or Cushing Frankenstein film BUT with an advanced technological hand ruling over it....and why trade one diversity for another? Romani hasn't been represented yet in the MCU...a great opportunity
That's the old Disney. Modern Disney insists on sticking real world 2022 issues and images into its fantasy content.on the other hand, wouldnt it be in Disney’s better interests to stick with fictional nations?
Well I am going to hold out hope that Marvel doesn't drop the ball on probably the most influential important villain in the history of Marvel (dare I say comicdom) and maybe its selfish of me, but to me, for Doom to be a TRUE success and a well rounded character, the following are a must for him:
*Comic book accurate look (based on the leaks, no problems there)
*Silly as it may be, but lets hope they keep his name Victor Von Doom
*Latveria is a EASTERN EUROPEAN NATION (think Frankenstein villages in the old Universal/Hammer films but governed with a high tech hand)
*Romani background/persecution
*Father was a healer/medical man...Mother was a witch/sorceress
*Speaking of mama, Doom will hopefully want to rescue her from the dark realm of Mephisto or other demon....(See Triumph and Torment as a template)
*Perfect blend of science and sorcery...plus his various robotic armies
*Sees his rule over Latveria as the way it should be across the planet/universe/multiverse
*Absolute hatred of THAT BLASTED RICHARDS
*Messed up face like Kirby envisioned or thin scar to show his vanity like Byrne envisioned (either way but the mask stays on UNLESS it comes off in a scene where his face is totally in shadows and we only see the seared flesh under the eyes and nothing else)
*Speaking of, the actor playing Doom needs to be ok with leaving the mask on
*Doom needs to be seen as a threat to ALL heroes, villains, and gods (sounds like based on speculations and possible rumors, that won't be a problem either)
*Talking in the 3rd person would be ideal too
*His presence needs to send shivers in the room
*Whomever the actor is, please have an accent of sorts and let it boom/echo throughout the mask
*Allow Doom's supreme goal to happen in Secret Wars by becoming God Emperor
I know I am absolutely crazy to think all of that will be included in Doom's on screen appearances. However, a character like Doom IF they want him to be THE villain that even tops Thanos and Kang (and other memorable historical villains like Vader and such), then a lot of this can go a long way to padding his overall mystique. That is why I hope a "Books of Doom" style origin for D+ will happen and give us a LOT of what I am asking for and then sprinkle the rest of that throughout the rest of his cinematic/tv appearances. I also know that this needs to happen in the context of the MCU, but these writers plus Feige have to know how important Doom is to the overall plans and to fandom in general....I can only hope there ingenuity will astound us in the end.
Yeah, I'd hate for Latveria to be changed "Gothic Cyberpunk" is a great way to describe it, and would be incredible if properly realized on screen. And that aesthetic is the perfect companion to Doom's melding of science and magic.
And yeah, Bardem is too old unless they plan on deaging him for any maskless scenes and flashbacks, which would be wildly unnecessary. I stick by Kayvan Novak as my top pick.

Yeah, we know Marvel would NEVER insert contemporary real-world issues into their storiesThat's the old Disney. Modern Disney insists on sticking real world 2022 issues and images into its fantasy content.
Me llamo... Doctor Doom! Yo soy mas brillante que ese tonto Richards!I normally don't advocate for someone recording on their phone during a movie, but I hope we get to see some reactions from fan-filled screenings when he finally shows up.
