That would be a perfect choice. The actor can be both flamboyant, creepy and menacing.

I don't know why I didn't think of Jonathan Rhys Meyers before but he would definitely be my pick for Doom especially now because of those piercing blue eyes but also he could provide an edge and a menace to Doom that he would actually be believable in the role

He was actually one of my picks for Lex Luthor after Cavill was cast as Superman .
Given their history on The Tudors, I thought it would have been awesome for the two of them to be opposing forces as Superman and Lex Luthor.

How is going from showing him Ala Thanos to possibly just a mention or nothing at all better??? This was Marvel's chance to capture lightning in a bottle twice with Doom being Phase 4 introduced and let him end being the REAL villain over the next few phases...look I like Kang and he will be great but he is NO Doom and this may prove they don't know what to do with him...the longer it takes for him to be introduced the less time they have to build him up and Secret Wars may end up Kangs which will be the ultimate slap in the face if not Dooms Supreme moment

Maybe Marvel doesn't think moviegoers would be excited about a Doctor Doom cameo. Makes me wonder if they have faith in the FF characters they got from Fox. Hey, maybe they'll have another Pip the Troll cameo instead.

I'm just now worried IF he actually isn't in it, then let's look at Phase 5...what projects could he appear in that make sense? Both tv and film? Ultimately, I think they are going to drop the ball with him...I don't know if Kevin/Marvel value him the way they did Thanos or how it appears they are going to with Kang...I worry that they will just wait until F4...which then gives the audience the assumption that he can only be an F4 villain...again...it also more or less proves that Marvel will give Kang (and i like Kang but all villains and I mean ALL pale to Doom) DOOMS role in Secret Wars and honestly I have no desire to see such an epic event with another villain running the show. It can be the most well written thing in existence but if it ain't Doom, its already failed BIG time
