The Evil Within: Some May Call It an Evil that is Resident

Well, the rocket launcher kills all the regular enemies with one shot, not all the bosses. I think Laura is also referenced as his sister in some of the documents.

Its killed pretty much everything I've hit it with. Hate those bosses you have to run away from. Just fire off a **** you rocket at them and it's done.

I'll use it to easily get the trophy where you have to kill Laura in Ch. 10.

I completed the game this afternoon. Overall, I highly enjoyed it with some mild frustrations.

I think that's how most people got that cheevo. Allegedly, you can do it naturally, but I never could.

I don't know about you guys, but I was somewhat confused by the story and I found this nice, but pretty long story explanation.

The Evil Within Story Explanation

I think, after watching this and having a better understanding, the game has a pretty good storyline, it just wasn't greatly explained throughout the course of the game.

[blackout]One thing the video fails to mention is that the woman who is with you when you actually wake up, not Kidman, is the nurse from the "safe place."[/blackout]

Eh, it's a Mikami game, so I never expected anything from the story. Something to get you from set piece to set piece. I'll take a read through of that, though, at some point.

I liked the story. It was just a simple little horror story for a game. I thought it worked out great.

I found the story was okay but really sparse. I get they were trying to make a mystery of what was going on but I'm sure most people figured out a good chunk of it in the first few chapters.

I honestly don't even really remember the plot that much. I just remember the locations.

Kidman was there when he woke up though and told him to continue playing dead.

Of course the biggest questions for the end of the game is [BLACKOUT]where is Joseph and Leslie[/BLACKOUT]?

I've upgraded roughly 2/3rds of the stuff in the game. Even with double the brain juice it's slow going by the end of the upgrades.

Leslie was shown walking out at the end. We have no idea what happened to Joseph. We only saw Leslie's nameplate on the tub. Didn't seem like they cared about Joseph at the end.

That's what I mean. We saw him then he vanished. What happened? Did it work in the end and he won? A hallucination? Gotta wait for the DLC. :p

I also just did the crow minigame in chapter 3 that gave me 100,000 brain juice. :D

Edit: And it is repeatable in the same runthrough. Just finish the chapter then reload. Much faster than what I was doing, killing all the bosses whenever I see them. :D

In Chapter 3 after you take down Mr. Chainsaw Maniac and the rest of the village you climb back to the very top of the barn where you got the key. You'll see a crow outside a window. Shoot it and you'll get a cutscene showing five more. You shoot all of them within two minutes and you'll get 100,000 brain juice on New Game+. Not sure if it works on the first runthrough which would give 50,000.

It's pretty neat. I'd recommend looking up a video for the locations as it's really hard looking for black crows at night. If you get them after the two minutes then you get nothing so save before.

Aside from a few frame rate issues and some clunky controls I'm really liking this game so far. It's gets quite addictive as you progress. I'm currently on chapter 5 facing that damn spider lady thing. Do you have to keep shooting her while she's on fire or will the flames eventually get the job done?

Just use the fire. After a few times she'll go bye bye.

First DLC: The Assignment, coming March. Super short and vague teaser here.

Neat. I'm looking forward to it.

Also, just did the 5 hour runthrough on casual and I'm trying to get the no upgrades as well on my current. Might do nightmare sometime in the future but not really that interested in it. Having everything upgraded was the only way to beat the 5 hour limit. I had 10 minutes to spare and that was pretty much one-shotting the bosses and ignoring many of the ammo pickups.

Going through my 2nd run of the game on + mode trying to get all collectibles and upgrade all skills.

The machine gun is cool, but is there any ammo anywhere?

I don't think so. I may be wrong, but I don't remember ever coming across ammo for either it or the rocket launcher.
