Some of what I'm reading just sounds like whining. One girl says he pressured her to come to his hotel room and then was an ******* when she refused. Another one says he wanted her to come over to his place and she said no and he was really rude. Both women call this assault. That's not assault. Supposedly one of the crew members on the show tweeted that pre production has started for S6,but then quickly deleted it stating that they were not sure if they had the authority to tweet that.

With the 'virtual' TCA's happening this week I would not be surprised if Amazon drops the news of S6 renewal

Is that in the sense that the books wrap the story up, and they (the writers) don't want to do a Game of Thrones and ruin what is an otherwise brilliant show by expanding the expanse (see what I've done there?) and extending it unnecessarily, or they'll catch up with the (ongoing?) books and they don't wish to overshoot?

They still have a lot cover, I think as the show moves forward they will be focused on doing 1 season per book, whereas in the past seasons they had basically covered 1 season over 2 books.

They did, yeah, but they shouldn't have, or they should at least have handled it far better than they did do.

The first four or five seasons (I think) followed the books and were for a large part, character focused. The last three seasons couldn't follow a book, because the book hadn't been released (and I don't think GRRM will ever finish the books). GRRM supposedly told the writers key elements of what was to happen and then let them run with it, but they did a terrible job and everything was rushed to that bitter ending.

That's all very well, providing the cast all wish to stick around for the duration. If they can get nine seasons for nine books(?) and it's a conclusive end, that'll be a good show. There's very few shoes that manage to go on for that long that remain consistent throughout.

The only exception I can think of off hand is Supernatural, which started strong, and is still going strong, but certainly suffered a bit through some of the middle seasons with where to go.

I can't imagine explaining to a newcomer, "Yeah, I know they've made 4 seasons adapting the first 4 books, but lemme tell ya...it's not exactly 1 season per book..."
