The Expendables 4

Fourth one will happen. You can thank China for that.

My idea is to strip down the team to just Statham, Lundgren and Snipes, slash the budget down to $40 million or so.

Have them transport a black bagged prisoner to a secret CIA facility, to hand him over to an elite CIA platoon that's spearheaded by Dave Bautista and Gina Carano, at the behest of Harrison Ford. The noob team is around guarding the perimeter.

During the exchange Bautista removes the prisoner's hood, revealing Bruce Willis. His platoon open fire and overtake the facility, trapping Stath, Lundgren and Snipes in Die Hard style.

Harrison Ford is the Al Powell equivalent, talking the guys through the situation. Midway the twist is that the noob team is under Willis' employ, so Ford is stuck dealing with them and the Expendables lose their only help from the outside.

So you have a nice tight three on three dynamic. You have a tried and tested 80's style Die Hard On A ______ plot, but this time with the guy who invented it as the hijacker, which they can play with, you have that 'Jason Bourne Control Room' trope being eliminated half way through the film. Basically just playing with and commenting on a lot of action conventions.

I'd save that for the fifth one. Expendables in the jungles of South East Asia taking on the security force of drug traffickers led by Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais.

I like both of these ideas a lot. But I still think Crews, Couture and Arnie should play a large role in the 4th movie as well. Snipes should get a bigger role as well.

Ex 3 has done decent on home sales as well so I think a 4th will happen.

Bring back Mel Gibson. He was a really entertaining villain and they didn't give him enough to do. In fact, the really huge cast meant that none of the cast really got enough screentime.

Get rid of the young blood. Nobody cares about those people.

Can you please write the next Expendables film.

Until Statham, Vin Diesel, The Rock, Mark Wahlberg and Gerard Butler are in their 60's and wanting to pay for their vacations.

As much as I dig Stallone, I only enjoyed the first Expendables.

He has such great intentions and the concept of the films is great, but the execution is just flat and lifeless.

If Expendables 4 had that cartoon cat from that one Paula Abdul music video, then count me in.

Instead I would have John Travolta as the main villain for Expendables 4 and with Travolta as the villain he can pretty much play a menacing villain in case if you haven't seen his movies with him as a villain like The Taking of Pelham 123 or Broken Arrow or Killing Season, and with Travolta as the villain to see him and Stallone go at it in a final fight scene would actually be pretty cool

Or instead of Travolta as the main villain imagine if it were Tom Cruise? Tom Cruise is an action legend as much as any of them are and Tom Cruise in a fight scene with Stallone it would actually be perfect

But I would want Travolta as the main villain with his main henchman or his second in command being Dave Bautista

Kevin Costner he would be another guy who could pull off being a menacing villain or even Steven Seagal if they could ever get him or even Kurt Russell for that matter as a villain instead of him as a good guy he can be the bad guy for oncee

Sly getting China's money to get this off .

'Expendables 4' secures China pre-sale http://bit.ly/1WRdpa0

Upcoming Nu Image / Millennium movies “Expendables 4” and “Security” are headed for China. That follows deals with Steven Paul’s SP International Pictures on behalf of SSXH Beijing and Max Screen Film Distribution.
The deals cover equity investments in both films and provide Chinese distribution rights. Both movies may use China as a location for some scenes, though it is not expected that there will be enough Chinese elements for them to be considered as full co-productions.

Action thriller, “Security” is now beginning production in Bulgaria at Nu Image studios. It will star Antonio Banderas (“The Mask of Zorro,” “Desperado”) and Ben Kingsley (“Gandhi,” “Schindler’s List”) under the direction of Alain Desrochers (“Nitro”). The budget is pegged at $15m.
“Expendables 4” will shoot in 2016 and be delivered in 2017.
Neither director nor cast have yet been announced, though the picture is expected to have maintain its all-action star formula. It is to be produced on a budget of over $100 million.

Damn...

I mean good for them, but this franchise just won't die.

I hope they go back to th r-rating, even the uncut version of the 3rd movie seemed majorly toned down compared to the previous 2. Hope Snipes comes back.

Hated the first, loved the second, hated the third. Maybe this'll be one of those "the even-numbered ones are the good ones" franchises.

That's pretty much how I feel about the franchise so far.

So we can thank Benedict Wong's Uncle Tom for this.

If you're going to do it...

1. R rating. 2. Don't bring in anyone who just wants a half assed cameo payday. 3. No noobs.

Expendable 3 is proof enough that these movied need to stop! The novelity has worn off now and Stallone needs to just accept that his days as a major action star are over.

That's because they were dumb enough to waste screentime on the younger members (sans Rousey) that nobody in general gave two sh**s about.

They were all equaly bad imao, would say the first one was the least entertainin of them all, might have violence in line with 80s films, but all the worst modern trends, like cgi blood splater and shaky cam.

If they want thi franchise to actualy be relevant, they should hire the people of films such as The Raid and John Wick. They keep relying on people who have been involved with modern Hollywood action films, and from what i see, none of them actualy worked during the 80s films, which is why they look and feel more like Direct to dvd features, than actual homages to the over-the-top 80s action films. Hell, the Fast and Furious franchise is actualy making a much better job in assembling action stars and making entertaining exagerated action films.

Yeah the younger members were he worst part of the movie, we watch these things to see older action stars still strutting their stuff. Not young people who can act and will never be action stars.

Well, when in doubt, throw in this guy in the hopes that he can revive the franchise:

he is afterall "Franchise Viagra"

No way they'd be able to afford him. I'd much rather they took his suggestion of Sly playing an antagonist to Luke Hobbs.
