I'm still confused about what happened in Countdown.
Has he been drinking Gingold or something?

It hasn't been revealed yet. And Jimmy seemed to be unsure himself why he could do that.

Maybe Johns and Co are all about bringing in the silver age elements because Jimmy Olsen could be from a different earth and the Monitors must kill him for being a discrepancy like Duela Dent was?

I think Olsen is all right in my book, but I think he is a tad bit cocky with his watch that communicates with Superman. I could see that privilege being easily abused in civil disputes over things and just paging Superman to come down and ending the argument.

I think Olsen's transformation is one of many. I think his body will continue to change during countdown into his classic transformations as a side effect of the world jumpers. like a butterfly effect that effects dimensions rather than time. I think by the end he will die do to this effect unless the side effects are stopped.

I think it would be interesting to see Jimmy pass on. It would stir up Superman's life and the Daily Planet. However...We are talking about the DC universe. No one stays dead in the DC universe.

It looks like I was right about Olsen going through all his old transformations (speed was part of them i believe). Can't wait to see what they do with giant turtle man or whatever that is.

This is just a guess on my part, but what if The Jimmy Olsen in the coutdown series story arc isn't The Jimmy from (The Post - Crisis era) . But is (The Pre-Crisis era)

That would explain why Jimmy's got Super powers and some what why he has to die (since he does belong in this universe).

Now if this is true, Where's The Real Jimmy Olsen ?
