The FFINO ZONE - Part 1

Im just waiting for the initial spin

First: "Screw the critics what do they know!"
Which then in time becomes: "Audience reviews is what matters"
And then: "Who cares that this didn't make money?! A sequel is coming"
Then finally: "Whatever I liked it! That's all that matters!"

It sometimes falls in line with to the stages of grief. Think we've all been through it at some point:

Denial ("Not enough reviews to prove anything yet. I'm my own judge anyway.") > Anger ("They just don't see the big picture! This was too smart for critics.") > Bargaining ("On closer inspection, maybe it's not the greatest, but they'll fix everything in the sequel!") > Depression ("I've waited this whole production, following all this news, just to finally receive these two forgettable hours.") > Acceptance ("Here's my fancast for the reboot -")

I just don't understand how people can like a movie but be so blinded they can't admit that it didn't make money or wasn't liked by a majority of people.

It's sad really.

Movie's still tracking for 50 million OW domestic, even if WOM is toxic, it'll still manage that 350 m WW number easily.

God, I wish Trank could tell the tale of what went wrong, I doubt he'll let anything slip on Kevin Smith'd podcast but who knows.

We know what went wrong:

-This was never about making a good FF movie. It was always a rights grab.
-The reports about his behavior are probably all true. Maybe prompted by the fact he knew this movie was soul-less. Probably worse than we heard.
-His antics prompted the studio to take a closer look and they came in and redid half the movie, which may have fixed or made it worse

There's no surprise here.

Yeah, I don't get that blind allegiance.

From the sound of it, it doesn't look like Fox will be able to do a sequel. They got the characters' personalities all wrong. They should just give the FF back to Marvel along with all the cool stuff bundled with them (Kang, Negative Zone, Surfer, Galactus, Skrulls, Subterrania, Badoon, Elders of the Universe, etc.) and hopefully poach 100% off the X-Men merch revenue with it alongside certain IP from the X-Men to own shared rights to (Brood, Shi'Ar, Taskmaster, Viper, Cytorrak and Juggernaut, possibly also D'Spayre if Fox own him). Fox get X-Men TV rights and two or three billion dollars.

It's not like Fox are lacking in sci-fi franchises when they own Alien and Predator. Just don't allow Josh Trank anywhere near either of those and we're good.

Or if you have trouble sleeping. :o

Its not long enough to get a good nap. So its gonna bore me to sleep and then the credits are going to roll just as Im getting to REM sleep. Rude:o

Just read on twitter

"It's clobbering time" is something Ben Grimm's abusive brother used to say before he slapped him about. Comic book fans will love that.

unconfirmed if true

I don't think they will.
This extended their rights.
Bad ratings doesn't change that.
They'll keep them for another 7 years at least and then think about what to do with it.

Man I hope in light of this Disney keeps Kinberg the hell away from SW.

Haters feasting right now :funny:

Seriously doe, yikes at these reviews

Two really awful things i just read from reddit

"The only reason they go to the other dimension is because Reed, Doom and Johnny get drunk. Seriously. It is awful and people will probably be talking about how ****** this set-up is for years."

And

"There's a very sudden time jump of 1 year roughly an hour into the film that feels like it was tacked on in reshoots"

Horrible.

So far, it's already earned a whole 32 points on Metacritic. 32 whole points! That's better than many winning football teams score!

but at least this failure means people still have to see the FF. I'm relieved this version will not be embraced as the definitive take on the characters
