There is zero chance a sequel goes forward. I think the cast and studio would sue/counter-sue each other into oblivion if they even think of moving forward with a sequel. The press would flay everyone involved.
Worst case scenario: Fox sits on the property for another 7 years and stupidly hopes that everyone's forgotten about their first three attempts come 2022.
Best case scenario: Fox and Disney have already reached a deal, with Disney getting back the FF rights package and Fox getting the green light to produce TV shows based on their X-Men universe. Obviously such a deal would not be announced immediately since it would open Fox up to even more embarrassment and ridicule. Fox announces an X-Men TV show in next few months. Feige announces FF as Phase 4's flagship in a couple of years. Bizarrely, this scenario actually seems semi-plausible to me as of now.
