The FFINO ZONE - Part 1

I can't believe people are trying to defend this film on twitter

People actively defending it out of a sense of crusade against the "haters" or "racist". They feel there are unfair feeling towards this project and feel the need to defend it. Completely ignoring many of the bad signs from the start.

In stripping back this origin story adventure to its base elements, producing a work that one might describe as Fleischer-esque, Trank and co-conspirators actually allow ample room for deeper reading.

:whatever:

I've seen a lot of "People are only hating on it because they want it back at Marvel" blah, blah blah. I, personally, wanted the film to be good and I had hopes at 1st...then I learned more and more about the film.

It's interesting that (while it's still early and things could change) both RT and Metacritic have it rated lower than the previous films.

After all the time Kinberg and others spent trashing the other films, wouldn't it be great if this ends up lower than them?:woot:

Poetic justice if true.

There was another Fresh added to RT, so it's at 22 now. It's going to take a little while until we have enough to be statistically valid.

It's 2-8 actually, so it will be 20% (again, one review missing in the %, this time a rotten one)

For all we know 20 % might be the highest this thing goes. For every one positive. It gets 10 negatives etc

So that review says that Doom doesn't have his iconic mask as such. It also makes it sound like this is like some cheap TV pilot that is rather run of the mill.

You can feel this giant film straining for indie cred. Mara’s character listens to Portishead to unwind. Teller and Jordan share a nice moment where dorky Reed Richards responds to Johnny’s fist bump with a gentle open-palmed pat. Yet none of these details fit into the whole. They’re just weird kinks, mumblecore-y elements in another shiny franchise picture whipped out for a quick buck.

The Fantastic Four, introduced in 1961, were Marvel’s original superhero ensemble. After the cheeseball 90s incarnation and Tim Story’s unremarkable double act of 2005 and 2007 they’re now on their fourth underwhelming feature adventure. A sequel has been announced for June 2017. Do you know what would be really fantastic? Leaving them on the page.

Oh dear.

I have to admit that, after a building dislike of Fox through this whole process, I'm getting to the point of seething hatred.:cmad:

The idea that they could screw all these films up so badly is beyond frustrating.

If they hand the rights over without drama, I can start to forgive them, but if they continue to hang onto them after this and play games when they clearly have no intention of making a proper film, I'm going to have a hard time looking at a Fox logo without seeing red.

If they don't hand the rights over, I think Marvel should seriously consider taking them to court. What judge would look at these RT scores and not recognize Fox has no regard for the integrity of the rights?

I hope Fox has the sense to just turn them over and not continue playing games, but if they don't, I'm going to have a hard time dealing with it.

The judge will look up after examining all the relevant RT scores in detail and declare: "You'll see it anyway." :o

I want to see all the young cat members for this in another movie. They seem to have good offscreen chemistry. Hopefully that can translate on screen with another movie. I know Teller and MBJ have good on screen chemistry

I'm right there with you. If only there was a quality clause in the contracts. I would be surprised though if there isn't something Disney's lawyers can do to end this madness. But given the state of the FF now, maybe it's just not worth it anymore.

I'm so relieved that Trank is out of the Star Wars film he was lined up for. Wouldn't let him near the franchise with a 10ft pole. Waiting for Lucasfilm to ditch Kinberg as well.

They ought to. The man is bad luck

At this point, there would be something comforting about it sitting on the shelf at Marvel rather than sitting on the shelf at Fox.

If nothing happens, we risk going through this whole nightmare again in 7 years.
