I have a feeling that Trank's version made for a better film, albeit not a good FF film. Chronicle was pretty good, he had the sensibilities to make another interesting movie with the same sort of flavor, but it appears Fox went back to their old ways and "Daredevil-ed" the situation into what we have today.

I wonder if Fox will release the Josh Trank cut ? Since to be fair to the movie. The first half is getting good reviews

To be honest, it might be worth releasing. It probably wouldn't be at all an ideal Fantastic Four movie, the one fans had been hoping for; but from the sound of the first half of this movie, it might be a decent sci-fi drama in its own right.

If you mean do we think that Fox will bring Trank back and give him money to finish his version and release it like what happened with Exorcist: The Beginning/Dominion: A Prequel to the Exorcist, no I doubt they will do that.

I should just move to Hollywood now and start churning out crap screenplays to popular franchises, because evidently I can make money off that for at least a little while.

Actually, I was asking a serious question because a line like this isn't really outlandish in this movie. I expect bad dialogue that accompanies a bad movie.

That would be interesting, but it probably doesn't actually exist. With all the special effects required, the first rough cut (before Fox decided to redo it all) was probably very rough with place markers and animated story-boards in place of the effects.

Jeff Sneider of the Wrap tweeted this out a few weeks ago. Trank appears to be the kind of "director" that sits back and let's the second unit guy do all the work.

Well it sounds like he's definitely the one being thrown under the bus by Trank and Fox (they keep pushing it as Trank's vision in interviews). But based on Keyser_Soze's review here it sounds like Trank may have actually done something interesting if flawed before Fox stepped in with reshoots and made it way worse. Personally I'd like to see Kinberg take a little heat: not that I want his career to sink, but I think he has way too much influence at Fox and LFL for his (at best) serviceable talents.

If you're posting in this thread, I assume it means you don't like the idea of this movie and have no intention of seeing it, so you don't care if there are spoilers or not. I can understand spoilers in another thread, but it doesn't really make sense in here given the nature of the people posting. And it's not like those who do like the film will come here.

I know for myself, I'm just going to read all the reviews, even if it contains huge spoiler material, because I am not paying to watch this crap.
