people forget that, even if the movie is a bad adaptation of fantastic four, it does not mean it is as bad movie itself...
this could be a very good movie, that sucks compared to the priginal story, but its good independently...
Then they wouldn't set the embargo date until the film actually comes out. We knew that this was going to be a very loose adaptation of the first six issues of UFF. Not screening the film for critics until the day before it comes out and then embargoing those reviews until the Thursday night premiere means that it's a lousy film on its own merits. Ant-Man was also a very loose adaptation that had little to do with the source material but was still a very good film.
Remember how Pixels reviews weren't out until the night before release? That's just the most recent example.
I'm not going to let the inner Marvel fanboy in me pay to see an FF film that's critically reviled if it means giving money to a director who insulted the entire film and TV industry at a Comic Con panel, linked detractors to a pic of a dog's butthole, allegedly threatened a reporter critical of his film and insulted the greatest FF writer/artist of all time. Even if it's the FF, it's still Josh Trank making a dreadful film.
