The Final Events of Bible Prophecy, and why it's important .....to you.

He would quote you: “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven” (Matthew 22:30). and explain that since there is no need for procreation, and we will be like the angels, we will know and love eachother, but not in a sexual/marital way.

That may not be the case. I read an interesting take on this subject a fairly recently. Christ may simply been commenting on the question asked, not on the state of our relationships in heaven. The scribes were describing a marriage from a practicle standpoint, that is the fact that women and children needed to be provided for, making such kinds of marriage necessary, though far from God's original purpose. The fact that He married Adam and Eve prior to their sin indicates that it is his ideal for us that we marry and have an intimate partner.

Angels, on the other hand, have idealized relationships living the way God intended them to live and they're living it perfectly. Christ may have been saying that when all this is over and the saved are resurrected, we also will have idealized relationships.

I'm just telling you what Doug Batchelor said to that question.

It's an unfortunate interpretation, one that probably serves to turn people off to scripture more than on.

Definitely, except for when they imagine hanging out for eternity with their first wife, their second wife and their third wife, but retaining all physical, emotional and sexual feelings for them all.

That's a very hen pecked husband. I wish him well.

Is that one of jack Chick's tracts? Read up on his views sometime. He's a bit extreme to say the least.

We're all less then what we were intended to be. We all have hurts and our reactions to those hurts are short of what God intended. Anything and everything that has fallen short of God's purposes will be removed.

This is one of the reasons why the anthropological idea of "God" is just infantile and ridiculas.

yet another reason...... oh well.

That site is hilarious and at the same time just sad that ancient mythology is still accepted as fact.

LOL, the Homosexual death-style probably includes the latest in coffins and makeup to conceal decomposition.

the thing about this guy, you can tell from his speaking style that he likely wouldn't listen to anyone with a contrary viewpoint. He's got that "railroad them with anecdotal evidence" style that's impossible to deal with.

Fact: Jesus will soon descend on a chariot of oil and money to beat all non-believers, jews, muslims, bhuddists, athiests and homosexuals (especialy homosexuals) alike to death with his gigantic penis.

Fiction: Facts (science)

I hope he brings chocolates and teddy bears for all the good christians.

The mere fact that people believe in religion only increases the chances of us dying. When somebody puts faith in a prophecy that only increases the chances of it coming true, because people make it come true.

So since "We're all less then what we were intended to be" that essentially means no one is going back when the rapture comes.

I don't believe in the rapture.

Nobody would, if our salvation was dependent upon our efforts. That is why God created a way out so that we can be saved. Aside from acceptance of Christ's sacrifice on our behalf, He requires us to start living to the best of our ability the way He intended for us to live, because that's the way we will live for eternity.

What are the consequences if we don't do what he requires of us?

Sorry, I know the SDA teaches salvation as grace through faith, but that just threw me a little.

Let me be as clear as I can, because I don't want to be misunderstood.

God will forgive every sin, no matter how large or small, if a person repents.

The purpose of obedience is not about trying to earn salvation, because that's been given as a full gift that simply needs to be accepted.

The purpose of obedience, as I understand it, is that it's part of the renewal process we go through to become the creatures that God originally intended us to become. However, one can't say that they've really accepted the gift of Christ if they're being deliberately disobedient.
