Who's it gonna be folks. After the horrid films of Elektra and Catwoman, I honestly believe we are due for a good one in time. But who will it be the star of said film. DC seems to be interested in Wonder Woman with the recent rumors of them looking at Jaimie Alexander and Marvel has been pushing to get Miss Marvel made or will it be someone else? :wow:

Bit early.

At his point Its more or less asking Disney Marvel or DC?

Either way Ms Marvel will most likely be more financially successful.

It's no way Ms Marvel will be more successful financially than Wonder Woman. No way. I'm a comic fan and I've never even heard of the character. Wonder Woman will be victorious.

Going by Marvel's track record, I'm more inclined to agree with CWR and that Ms. Marvel will be out and be a success and possibly become a household name, especially if she were to cameo in one of the bigger heroes films. DC's blatant mismanagment of Wondy has me quite cynical of the commercial success of a potential Wonder Woman film.

Between these two, I think you'll see a Ms Marvel movie first. Though it'll probably just be called Captain Marvel.

OTOH, Jessica Jones looks to get her own TV show before either.

What track record wrt to female characters exactly? BTW there is zero indication that Marvel is looking at a Ms. Marvel movie other than fanboy wishful thinking.

Not female superheroes, just their CBMs in general have been wowing critics and audiences it seems. They have that magic formula that seems to resonate while DC's films have polarized fans and critics. And I like DC. :(

Marvel will reboot their Miss Marvel franchise by the time the first Wonder Woman film comes out.

Considering Dc track record with anything Wonder Woman related,I'd say that it's more likely we'd see Captain Marvel on the silver screen first.

Assuming that both companies were seriously pursuing both of these properties, I think they'd probably both be financially successful, but WW more so simply because of how long people have been waiting for it. The movie could be utter crap and it would still make a haul.

Interesting. I hope that we see both within 5 years.

I gotta see BvsS before I know how good Wonder Woman could be. And I'd need to know what the plot of Ms. Marvel is before I decide whether that will be good.

On the paper, WW is a bigger character. But reality can turn out to be different.

Before seeing any teasers or pics, who would have thought that Captain America would beat Green Lantern? I thought Cap would be a moderate success at best, while GL becoming a huge blockbuster franchise. My own liking for Cap had to be left out of the equation when I tried to foresee the box office appeal with a realistic mind.

Miss Marvel.

Marvel simply has better movie production team and more experience with good strong female characters.

yeah but the thing about it is kind of like it was with the Avengers. The first one to get this out there is the one that's gonna get the lion's share of the reward. It's not like WW has anything like a large fan following. All people recognize of her is her look and maybe that Steve Trevor is her lone publicly known supporting character. That's it. So if she gets there first then it'll capitalize on that fact but if not then I can't imagine image alone being enough.

I do agree that if WW gets there first it'll be a bigger deal than if Ms. Marvel does at the box office simply due to the afore-mentioned public awareness of her image being much greater. But if she comes in at #2 then I don't think that alone will be enough to generate much buzz. Then that movie will really have to fully deliver to be a hit.

Umm, most people. Cap was always arguably the better known in the public consciousness of the 2, albeit a very small lead. Thor and GL is a more even playing field paring, IMO. Cap was more like Wonder Woman. People knew the name and the image but little else.

I voted Ms. Marvel though honestly I really want She-Hulk more than either of these two.

A part of me thinks it should be WW because she's the most iconic and her movie could be truly epic, but the other part of me likes Carol as a character more and has more faith in Marvel to do her well, so really...I don't care, I just want one of them to be translated to the movies successfully. If that happens, I'll jump for joy.

My money is on Captain Marvel, because of Marvel touch, the strong male hero to latch onto for the boys and the Avengers connection.

Wonder Woman could be good, but if they give it the same treatment they gave Superman in MOS, with it's very dreary heavy tone, it will fail to find much success. It is highly unlikely we will see a Wonder Woman film unless Marvel proves female heroes can work first.

X-Men Origins: Storm!

As for Ms. Marvel or Wonder Woman, there's a possibility that we might get a Ms. Marvel film first but I could see DC fast tracking Wonder Woman if BvS turned out to be great!

I think it will be Captain Marvel.

I'm doubtful DC/WB will ever release a Wonder Woman live-action film. At best, they might end up producing "Amazon" for television and include Wonder Woman in a future Justice League or Trinity film.

However, based on Marvel's track record, I think there is a good chance that they will release a well-made Captain Marvel live-action film as part of Phase 3.

Then again, it's entirely possible that a rebooted Buffy or Xena or Lara Croft could end up taking the title unless DC or Marvel get their act together and soon.

I was talking about their respective "worlds". Green Lantern has a bigger scope and could have been a huuuuge cinematic experience if done right.

I fail to see how those 3 are even relevant. If they are then so is Angelina Jolie in films like Salt and she even already did a couple of Croft films. Buffy had one as well. But those aren't superheroines. Hell, they're not even original comic book creations. Any comics they might have ended up in was after the fact type stuff.

With the recent news of Gal Gadot's casting of Wonder Woman. Do you guys think WW will be it? :awesome:

No. I doubt she can carry a film herself and I doubt WB would be willing to risk it. They'll put out a WW film with her in the lead IF and only IF Batman/Superman is a huge hit(critically and commercially) and she gets mentioned a lot in positive press(kinda like Hulk was well noted as a highlight of TA) AND they then roll into a JL movie and that continues the same trend. THEN I can see them taking the risk and pulling the trigger on a WW film with her as the lead. All that is gonna take until 2017-2018 at least before they make a final decision and then it's another 2 years till the film is made and released so figure 2019 or 2020 at the earliest. Marvel Studios will be well into Phase 4 by then.

Yeah, I can't see WB doing Wonder Woman until after Justice League at the earliest.
