Let's imagine that MCU phase 1 went down exactly the way it did but then after The Avengers Marvel Studios put out nothing other than Thor The Dark World (Aqauman) in 2013, Ant-Man in 2015 (Shazam), Ant-Man 2 in 2017 (Shazam 2) and then expected everyone to get hyped for a new solo Hulk movie with Ruffalo (The Flash) in 2018.
:D That would be enough boredom to tank any franchise.

Technically he appeared in Batman v Superman as The Flash as well. And Suicide Squad.

I mean wouldn't this be a decent result for The Flash considering Shazam 2?

I mean, it was tracking for over $100 mil OW for a while, so....

And Deadline is definitely trying to put a positive spin on the numbers.

Those were both before Justice League though (and were super brief). His post-JL appearances happened in CW's The Flash and Peacemaker.

Tbh, I think WB could make a documentary on "The Making of The Flash" movie down the road. That could be quite interesting. Probably doc better numbers than the actual movie. Which is just sad. :(

I am going to give WB a pass. We forget that this movie was supposed to come out in 2018. With Covid, two regime changes, and the lead actor getting in trouble. This was going to be a mess. I think Gunn would have rather started from scratch but the investors needed to recoup something. Let’s just relax and give the DCU a chance. Maybe Blue Beetle can give us some hope.

That would put it at 40 going in to Sunday. Probably low 50s for the 3-day. Maybe gets to 60 with the Monday holiday? I’m not off work but maybe enough other people are…

Nobody is. I am DCDave for a reason. I am going to support Blue Beetle. I like what young justice did for Reyes and the Scarab. Looking forward to there back and forth.

they had the opportunity to recast Miller after that video of him choking that girl came out, yet they didn't

Frankly, I'm surprised that Warner Bros even agreed to Ezra's casting as the Flash in the first place. Even without the controversy that they've caused for the past couple of years, Ezra wasn't exactly known for being leading star material.

Snyder wanted them. And what Zack wanted his dumbass got.

Unless I'm mistaken, wouldn't Snyder (or any Director) still require the studio's final approval before making a major casting selection?

Campea claims most of the movie was done before that incident. It is clear that Ezra’s behavior affected the movie as few women came out to support the Flash.

Ezra is clearly the best actor out of Momoa, Affleck, Gadot, Cavill, ect…. Snyder went with looks over acting.

I don’t really care that much for any of them, including Miller. But if I had to choose, I would say Affleck is the best of them. In the right role, he can be pretty good.
Affleck I think is fine at when in his range. The problem is, a lot of his stuff is out of his range and he ends up terrible.

Miller in Perks is better then anything I've seen from any of these other actors and I'm told they better in other roles. That said, even if you take Affleck over Miller, that's one. This casting was not good.
