Because they're making progress, and impressively fast. So don't chicken out, don't do something this big if you're just going to IMMEDIATELY undo it. That's just lame.

The only real retcon (if I'm using that right) will be Cisco's death.. Barry is still going to reveal himself to Iris and Well's identity will become known or in the least his meddling the night Reverse Flash showed up. Cisco still is right on the trail of that.

I think it made for a really intense episode into a storyline that now can stretch 3-5 more eps. I dont think anything they did is weakened now that time travel is involved. But I can see your side.

I gotta admit, I didn't expect so many bombs to be dropped this episode.
Damn good episode. Just hope everything isn't retconed by next week.

Wells admitting he is Eobard Thawne. (which I kind of figured out since mid-season)
Then he killed Cisco
Iris admits that she loves Barry - well the kiss sealed it for me ans she knows he's the Flash.
And Barry going back in time (which was awesome in itself)

Yeah if you're not going to have it stick, and if you're going to retcon in in the NEXT episode, then DON'T DO IT AT ALL!! Don't jerk the audience around. If you do it, stick with it. And quite honestly, as good as this season has been, the whole "no one besides Joe is suspicious of Wells, even though they really should be" thing has been my biggest issue with it thus far.

In a trailer (I think for the next episode) it showed Eddie giving out angrily to Barry so they may not retcon what happened with Barry and Iris.

If you saw the sizzle reel trailer for the rest of the season, you'd know that Cisco comes back - most likely he's saved by Barry, somehow.

I don't even care that Weather Wizard's motivation was completely stupid and absurd. That was an amazing episode. Bravo.

I'm also just flat-out tired of Iris being the ONLY main cast member who DOESN'T know. The whole "love interest cannot find out because of DRRAAAMMAA" thing almost never works, and it certainly isn't here. It adds nothing of value to the show, it's just tiresome.

If I had to guess, Barry tells everyone about his time travel incident, which puts Cisco and Wells attention on that. Solves Cisco's death. Barry tells Iris he knows that she thinks about him and Eddie sees that. Solves Eddie's anger. I don't think he'll reveal to her that he's the Flash...yet.
