Nice picture. Liking the coloring much better, although it's obviously been photoshopped to hell. Wish they'd fix the ear pieces.

God I really hate that ****ing suit. It's just an aberration to look at.

Oh I get it now, you don't like the costume! The other 100 or so times you were prattling on about it, I didn't quite get that;-)

You mean like the million or so times he's complained about it haha. That's basically all he does in any thread in the flash forums. Complain and remind us all a million times over how much he hates it.

That's not true, I keep hoping I'm going to see it again after not seeing it for a while and think "eh, it's not as bad as I thought it was" but I don't, it looks just as bad as it always did.

Whatever. If the rest of the show sucks as much as the suit does hopefully it gets cancelled after one season and they do Flash justice on film one day. The Flash suit is something ludicrously easy not to screw up...you have to work hard and make a real damn effort to screw his suit up in live action, the design is so perfect the way it is and one of the naturally cooler looking superhero costumes that doesn't need much if any tweaking for live action.

The goal with doing these live action projects should be how much of the source they can keep not throw away. I feel like half the people in Hollywood and on these boards just don't get that. That's the whole damn point of doing a movie based off a comic book or other good work or good anything in the first place.

You just proved my point once again haha. You replied to say you don't constantly complain about it, and then complained again hahaha.

No, you said all I do on these boards is complain about the costume. I don't. I talk about the character(s), ideas for the movies/tv shows, the old TV show, the animated features, the comics, casting for features, and yes, new news about the show which sometimes involves the costume. Which is what we got yesterday, a new image of the suit.

Just woke up from a nap and was dreaming that I was watching the pilot, just as Gustin was about the don the costume I woke up. :(

Kevin they don't have to follow everything from the source exactly. You and so many others seem to think that if they change something up it's garbage. If you want your pure comic version, the comics will always be there for you to go back to and read. Simple.

This image is cool.

Why not just make the symbol on his chest just like that? That's already halfway there, now all they need is the white. ****, I'd even be fine if they just did it like that, that'd still be an improvement over the **** we have now.

Next: the damn ear pieces. :D

Only when the changes are unnecessary or worse than what's in the source material, which they are, 90% of the time. The comics are simply story and storyboard, half the work is already done for you as a filmmaker.

If you really think you can improve on something, do it. But nothing here looks better than The Flash's comic costume. Don't just change something for the hell of it - that's all these suit changes are.

Unnecessary or worse in your mind. Not necessarily viewed that way by others. Just because you think it's unnecessary doesn't make it a fact.

How is half assing The Flash logo on his chest an improvement? Or necessary? I'm a pretty fair person, I want to know...

How is them changing it up unnecessary? Just cause you don't like the way it looks now it's unnecessary?

Because the suit looked great before. It looked so good it went through only minor changes in its nearly 60 year existence, so good that when they did the New 52 redesign for everyone and gave everyone collars and armor the best they could think of for Flash was to draw little lines over his existing design. It's a good comic book costume. The tv show suit looks like ****. Someone please tell me why The Flash logo on his chest needs to be uneven. Why the ear pieces need to look like his new chest logo. And why he needs a frikkin belt with a giant ass gaudy ass buckle and little shoe lace lightning all over the rest of his costume instead of his classic lightning trim on his forearms and waist? How the hell is any of that an improvement over the simplistic, slick and sleek design of the comic?

I'm digging the font they went with
I have the exact opposite reaction. I wish they just went with the current logo in the comics.

For corporate synergy or for whatever reason.:yay:

And yeah, cowl looks good after the color correction for television. Alright alright alright!

I doubt that logo will be the finalized version.

I doubt CW is just doing quick mock ups of everything, that will probably be the font they use either in the shows title or promo material just like how Nikita had two different fonts.

Man i really can't wait for this. The color correction made a huge difference.
It's not like there isn't a lot of buzz around this project, there is, but i wish there was more buzz. This is live action Flash!!! it's ****ing huge!!! why isn't everyone freaking out? There's barely any people that even post here....

I'd think there would be more different people on these boards than there have been.

Which is what they did with Batman as well.

For some kind of uniform look I'd say. They achive the point of the classic, but have updated it. It's worked well.

The belt may have some use. It looks like it can store thing, perhaps he keeps the costume in the belt rather than the ring.

And the trim is again, just tweeking the comic design. It's going for the Nu52 thing of having lines all over the place, just it's little lightening trim.

I'm with you Kevin! You crazy bastard! I'll give allowances for anything and try to be open minded, but everything you say about the costume is spot on.

I'm more concerned with the story they're going to tell. Story is key to this series existence.

By the way, if Arrow doesn't have a belt, why should the Flash? The Flash can have a unitard for a costume because he can. Hell he can even NOT have a costume if he chose to because he can run around without anybody seeing him! Pockets? Why? He can get to anything in an instant.

I have a suspicion that the jacket was designed to be able to merge the cowl/neckpiece to the rest of the costume. For the life of me I can't see it being done with spandex. Cowl + spandex I mean.

Still I am excited! Can't wait for the trailer!

So if GA doesn't have a belt, Flash shouldn't either? That makes no sense whatsoever. Flash isn't GA in case you forgot.

Geez, can't all the (already) extremely tiresome whining about the costume be kept in the damn costume thread? Isn't that what it's there for?

So if GA doesn't have a belt, Flash shouldn't either? That makes no sense whatsoever. Flash isn't GA in case you forgot.

Agreed. it's as stupid an idea as "Because Superman doesn't have trunks, neither should Batman." in the upcoming BvS movie. They're two different people with separate personalities, they're not twins, and they shouldn't dress as if they are.

It's worked well.

Lol no it hasn't. It looks terrible.

I'm totally fine with them not including the costs ring but if they're going to go through all the effort to explain how it comes out of a belt, why not just do the ring? I don't get it. The belt just looks bad.

Yeah, but Flash in the NU52 design still has his big and bold classic trim in the areas he's always had it in addition to the little lines drawn all over, here he just has the yellow shoelaces glued on all over at random with none of the classic trim that defines the costume at all. Sucks.
