I voted 8 but after reading this thread I want to upgrade it to a 9. I am loving this show!

Great episode! Grant's best outing yet as the character. I'm being him in the role 100% now.

The only thing keeping me off of giving it a 10/10 rating is minor silly things like how often Barry takes his mask off in public, inconsistency in the abilities of the villain, still lackluster emotional content (though the scene with JWS in this episode was an exception. He's still got it as far as acting in a show like this.), and the fact that Iris's portrayal is starting to bug me. Every time she's trying to be funny or sarcastic, it's more eyeroll inducing than effective. She's not at Laurel level yet, but I would be lying if I said that I didn't find her at least a little annoying.

From Joe Adalian's twitter:

"It's official: THE FLASH is a big honkin' hit for CW. Episode 2 retains 100 percent of A18-49 from debut, with a 1.6. Viewers: 4.1M

FLASH did the same A18-49 rating as ABC's SHIELD last night (1.6)."

Season renewal, here we come!

CW must be thrilled.

While I would like to have seen it beat AOS let's remember it still got 4 million In total viewers and tied AOS In the 18-48 year old Demo. And this Is the CW we are talking about.

In the end the 18-49 demo rating is what network execs care about anyway and it's more important that it held steadily than the amount of total viewers. This is why you've seen shows in the past with a great number of millions of viewers get cancelled, their 18-49 demo rating was lackluster. This means the future of this show is looking very bright.

Glad to see the Flash retained 4 million viewers from the pilot and into this episode. I hope it opens up for a third DCU TV show for the CW. The Flash could easily replace Arrow as it's top-rated hit show.

Did anyone else notice the giant wall decoration behind West and Harrison as they are talking in the police dept? It looked almost like the Justice League or Justice Society.

This show couldn't be any better. It has the quality of a freakin' movie, except it has no end. I'm so thrilled. SO THRILLED.

The CW has all my respect in the world. Here's hoping they do another series and eventually lead to a "CW Justice League" across multiple shows. :wow:

I really hope they get Supergirl instead of CBS. I'd die a happy man.

By the way, between Arrow and Flash, the CW Universe is basically my favorite live action shared universe as of right now. Zack Snyder better impress the hell out of me, because CW is seriously killing it.

Two very good episodes so far. Liking all the casting choices.

I like the villains on the show so far, and I don't think Multiplex is dead. Any character that can make clones of them self won't ever really be dead in fiction. I hope he'll reappear in the Suicide Squad later. My only gripe is in the 1st fight with the Flash, even with 5 or so clones, no way he should have been able to get the drop on and beat down Barry. Mist looks sweet too, glad they are bringing in bad guys that would be able to give Flash a decent fight.

I liked this episode, not as much as the pilot, but a solid effort. Effects looked great, even if his power usage wasn't as impressive overall. They handled his need to eat a lot in a fairly organic way.

The suit looked pretty darn good throughout.

Some nice easter eggs, with the "Justice" relief. And I like that Cisco basically paved the way for calling villains "Captain this and that".

Wells is just sinister and subtle enough to intrigue. It's pretty clear where they're going with him storywise, if not characterwise, and its a darn interesting approach.

Joe West is a welcome addition to the show, and he and Barry have good chemistry.

Eddie Thawne isn't even cardboard yet. I'll give it some time.

Iris is broadly drawn and somewhat annoying. She needs some depth, stat.

If I have a major complaint, it's that Barry went to the "I give up" plot in episode 2. Seemed a bit forced. Realistic, maybe, but forced.

Absolutely loved this episode.

The scenes between Barry and Joe were awesome. Definitely resonated with me at a personal level.

It's always interesting to see how a series does after a strong start in the first episode, but they certainly lived up to the hype.

I got pretty emotional during those scenes.

I don't get choked up that easily, but I had to wipe a few tears from my eyes as well.

I can only see their chemistry progressing as the show does. It should be great to watch.

Agreed. Can't wait to see what happens next.

How about that twist at the end, everyone? Well, I don't know if it can be called a twist, but I was surprised.

I didn't love this episode as much as the first, but it was still incredibly enjoyable.

I really like the overall cast of characters, although Iris West and Detective Pretty are obviously under-developed to date. Really, apart from a couple of the Iris West scenes, there wasn't much to fault in this episode. I was disappointed to see Simon Stagg disposed of so early into the series, but the "reveal" that his death facilitated was interesting and intriguing.

I was also disappointed by Multiplex's death, but I have to assume that he jumped his consciousness into one of his duplicates and escaped. I was a little confused about what happened to his duplicates when he "died". Did they have to dispose of hundreds of bodies? Did they disappear? Oh and I would have liked an appropriately science fiction explanation for how Multiplex creates clones with the same clothing and accessories/weapons. They talked all about his biological cells replicating, but nothing about how his clones weren't naked. None of these were major issues and they certainly didn't take away from the awesome sight of hundreds (?) of Multiplexes chasing The Flash.

I hope that Iris West can evolve beyond being a nagging presence. Obviously, they're starting to turn her into a journalist, but I'd hope that she's more than just a Chloe Sullivan type character. It would be great if she had an independent storyline of some kind. And the same goes for Detective Pretty Boy, but it seems clear that there will be some major developments for his character at some point based on his name.

Enjoying the show very much so far. One question about the Multiplex character - Unless I misunderstood, he reproduces his copies on a cellular level. If that's right, then how does he replicate his clothing? Is that explained and I just missed it? Or is it another example of comic-book science gone awry? Is it explained at all?

I think the particle accelerator is being used to hand wave the more fantastical aspects of the already really fantastical powers. Maybe Multiplex has a limited effect on gear he has with him that's not complicated?

Panabaker has an interesting role on the show; she's one of the two female leads, and she's effectively the Nega-Felicity. She's the straight man to Cisco and Barry's antics, which I like, and honestly? I like her being the "more conservative" team player, it gives her some separation from the fanboying Cisco and the sometimes sinisterly devoted Wells. Plus, since they've confirmed Ronnie was her boyfriend, they've set up an interesting dynamic and reason for her as Killer Frost.

Gustin has better material to work with on a scene by scene basis than Amell, and he's using it. He's charming and enthusiastic, and that's excellent for a superhero show.

Wells and Thawne are doing a great job juggling both red herrings for Reverse Flash. Wells has a mix of comic!Thawne's more subtle and restrained portrayals, whereas Thawne has an edge of narcissism that heartens to the more extreme portrayals.

Multiplex and Stagg dying is a tragedy because of the formula more than anything else. I will say it gives me hope that they have an actual delineation between rogues and Rogues.

I didn't really care about Multiplex's "exit" as he wasn't that great a character.

And with regard to Simon Stagg...Stagg Industries is going to need a new head scientist/genius.

I was pretty damn shocked.

That makes it two episodes now where Wells did something surprising at the end, there's definitely a side to him that has yet to be revealed.

I said it might not have been a twist because it seemed like there was something between Wells and Stagg when they met earlier in the episode.

The way this show has hit the ground running has me near salivating at how good it could be when the writers settle in to things and it really hits its stride.

I'm not all that into the 'can't tell Iris' stuff; it's just a played cliche at this point. Her fostering an interest in whatever nickname they're calling Barry does nothing to aid it. Good moments between Barry/Joe and Barry/JWS. The former made me hungry for pizza.

Didn't expect Stagg to bite it, but this Wells thing is developing nicely.

I would really love if somehow they can create a Green lantern series next out of all of this.
