Definitely the shows strongest episode yet. This show's on a roll so far. Miller was fantastic as Cold, definitely managed to sell Captain Cold being the first villain that could actually beat the Flash. I also liked how Cold got some added credibility with the gun having been designed specifically to stop Barry, helps make him come off as more of a threat. And that train sequence was fantastic, love seeing moments like that in live action. Gonna be awesome to see Cold put together his team throughout the series.

I've heard this criticism before, but I don't know what the problem is.Whenever I've read books, posts, whatever,I've never seen punctuation used in any manner inconsistent with the way I've used it.

Now using the above paragraph as example:

I've heard this criticism before , I don't know what the problem is . Whenever I've read books , posts , whatever , I've never seen punctuation used in any manner inconsistent with the way I've used it .

^Is this somehow the excepted practice these days?I don't see the big deal.
First you have no space, then you put a space before AND after the punctuation. When you use punctuation, there is a space AFTER the mark and not before. Just as I'm here doing, aside from the apostrophes, which don't need a space because they're part of the same word.

Open any English-language book out there and the punctuation will match what I have described. You always put a space after a period, comma, colon, or semicolon.

And the word you're looking for is "accepted" practice.

Good episode. The only thing I didn't like was I felt like the Felicity/Barry relationship was abruptly ended for production reasons and not for story reasons... it felt like the producers were basically saying to the audience "yeah sorry folks but we can't have this actress on both shows therefore her relationship with barry needs to end... in this episode... like right now"...

I liked this episode. Mostly because it showed us a side of STAR and The Flash's relationship we hadn't seen...their concern over metahumans, and concern over him in particular.

Captain Cold was decent. It's early days and he was kind of just an ambitious ******* with a detached, cold personality and a cold gun...I guess that's fairly accurate as to the basics of him. Miller was okay in the role...didn't have much to work with.

The train sequence was fantastic, as were the action sequences earlier in the episode. Loved Cisco and the vac.

And hey, Eddie Thawne was still cardboard, but at least he had SOME personality this episode.

Iris is still kind of just annoying.

I'm thinking the reason Barry didn't just try to grab his gun at superspeed is that we already saw that he was not faster than the cold beam. Maybe a little hesitant after that incident? Dunno.

Definitely the best episode so far. Having a great villain raises the quality, and Captain Cold was badass.

Grant Gustin has the same problem as Stephen Amell in that both have better chemistry with other women rather than their lead actress. Barry/Felicity blows Barry/Iris out of the water, especially with the Iris/Eddie subplot dragging things down a bit, much like the Laurel/Tommy stuff in "Arrow". Its a shame Felicity can't be on both shows, but at least we'll see more Barry/Felicity interaction very soon.

Wells was downright frightening this week. I'm kinda hoping he is Zoom, even if it is predictable at this point.

That train sequence has me mighty excited that The Flash will have a movie after all. If they can do something like that on a TV show budget, imagine what they can do with 100+ million dollars.

Brilliant show. Wonderful. Best superhero TV show bar none.

This was a very bizarre episode for me. On one hand I really really liked Captain Cold, his relationship with Barry, and the action sequences, particularly the train rescue. On the other hand, I really am not a fan of the romantic stuff taking center stage. And I thought that end scene with Felicity made no sense.

I don't know what I'm going to give this one. Probably a 5 or a 6.

Fave episode.

The train rescue was amazing. Cold was amazing. Felicity was amazing. Reallly loved it.

Pretty good overall. Gustin has a knack for making an otherwise corny scene/line of dialogue into something genuinely compelling. Cisco is really great at that as well.

Miller was as good as I've ever seen him. He tends to be wooden, but he was pretty solid here.

Amazing visuals. Really impressed with how they've made their budget work. Flash zipping around with the lightning is truly a comic panel come to life.

I do wonder how they will make Iris likeable because she is just the worst. #TeamFelicity.

Don't get the Iris hate, I really like her. She simply sees Barry as a brother and seeing as she grew up with him it's not hard to see why. I don't see what Felicity has done that makes her more likeable.

Waiting two weeks for the next Flash is horrible :(

For some odd reason, it took me until today to realize that the next episode is on November 11th.

I was looking forward to tonight :csad:

That train scene was such a heroic moment. I rarely get vocal when watching even my favourite shows but I literally yelled "This is epic!" as it was happening haha!

So damn cool

I felt the same way. I told my wife "I can't believe I'm watching this on TV!".

Just watched this episode today, not quite as emotionally charged as the 3rd but overall really great. Really impressed with this show so far, each episode has been very good. I'm also a huge fan of the score, it's been varied throughout the episodes and well executed.

Agree on all counts. I think some of it might be driven by people who want to see Barry with someone else.
I more interested in the show moving on with Iris' arc and Eddie's too.

Romance is there and I don't really care about it or hate it. Is part of the almost every TV show and thankfully everyone in the Flash is likable to alright.

I'm in the "like" not "love" camp so far but there were elements in this episode that I absolutely loved. The treadmilll scene comes to mind.

Personally, I don't understand the "hate" for Iris at all. Just like the hatred for the character of Laurel on Arrow, it makes absolutely no sense to me at all.

I could sort of understand the Laurel hate last season, her storylines were all over the place and didn't really mesh with the rest of the story arcs very well (as well as her story arcs being a bit annoying now and then) until the last few episodes of the season. The Iris hate however baffles me, I'm trying to figure out what exactly the character did that was so annoying but I'm drawing a blank.

She put a guy into friendzone. That's enough i would say.

You hate Iris because she friendzoned Barry? Am I understanding you correctly?

It's one of the reasons.
I dont hate her, I just dont like her. She has no purpouse, her character. It's for melodrama, first she waitressing now she is acting like reporter, and not real reporter, better say the bloger like that's the job. Until Flash she had no idea what to do with her life. Then she immediately put Barry into friendzone with her little speach and start dating with her dad's partner.

late to the party since I just watched the episode, but loved it! Loved Captain Cold, loved the barricity interactions and kiss at the end, and loved Barry going against Snart and being devastated he didn't save the dude Snart killed. Also, wow at Wells. He was straight up sinister in his scenes with Cisco and pretty damn intimidating. He didn't even try to hide it at all, even in the last scene where he went from all smiles to grabbing Cisco's arm and telling him not to ever do what he did again.

Lastly, loved loved loved the train scene. It was pretty awesome.

Same here on not hating her, I just can do without the pining and longing looks from Barry. She doesn't really seem into him at all to me, and sees him as family/a brother, so I hope he just moves on with anyone else.

I'm catching up...but WOW!

What a great overall episode and Wentworth was great as "Cap Cold".

Seeing the whole relationship between Barry and Felicity develop was just perfect and I was rooting for Barry to freakin kiss her at the end and me and wifey were so glad that he did! This show impresses me more and more every week!

Johns and Berlanti are hitting the nail on the head and Gustin has been a gem of a casting choice as well! :woot:
