Big Belly Burgers reference too!
Another good episode all around.
They're really doing a great job with Iris imo, and i'm glad the writers didn't go the predictable "you keep the truth from me!" clique with Joe ,and avoided having her sulking the rest of the episode. She handled it like an adult, and at least understood why he did what he did even if she may not have agreed with it.
Patty is so freaking cute.I also thought the ear line was funny. They even had a brief apperance with Linda which will make things interesting once Wally West appears.
Good episode.
Yeah, I hope they maintain this level of quality when it comes to writing Iris's character on the show.
And I'm actually glad that they never allowed Barry and Linda's relationship to go any farther than it did last season, on a physical or emotional note as I'd hate it for Wally's future Mentor to have been too deeply involved with his potential future wife on the show.
I haven't really been the biggest fan of Miller 's captain cold, but I really enjoyed him in this episode. Seems like he tweaked his take on the character a little bit and I hope he sticks with .
It irks me how Iris reacted to the news of Joe lying to her about her mom. This would actually have been a moment where she had every right to be pissed and actually should be because, come on, your father told you your whole life that you mother is dead when she really wasn't and sure, he did so because he thought he would help her that way and I think he did the right thing but from the standpoint of a daughter and how Iris has been portrayed in the last season in regard to things being kept from her this makes no sense. I like this more understandable Iris but for my taste she is suddenly a bit too understandable in regard of what has been kept from her. The writers probably got why so many people had a problem with her last season and decided to change that character trait from her, for which I'm really glad, but here it seems fake and like a complete 180 to how she has been portrayed so far. I would have liked the change to be a bit more subtle and graduate.
no they will be the same age zone or have him be older if they make the mistake of being iris brother Idea.I doubt they will let Wally end up with Linda. Wally is supposedly going to become Kid Flash which means that he will still be at least a teenager (also, considering the actor's age, he is too old to play anything younger). Linda is about Barry's age, I don't think the CW will go for a couple with such a age difference. Right now, I think that Linda has been more or less a throw-away character, at least in regard to romances, which is a pity, I liked her and Barry being together.
Still, I'm glad they didn't end up together as Barry and Patty have some awesome chemistry from what I've seen so far and I really hope for them to get together at least for a while before he is going to end up with Iris (which I still hope he won't but I'm pretty sure is the goal for the writers).

I'd rather wally be iris cousin and he used to play and hang out with both barry and iris when they were kid'swhen he visted . but kid flash won't fit BTw I did put up some info in from a flash web sited which knows the entire history of the flash's and the blur was used as a code name.
so it'll work for Wally. as to the cousin idea it'll also explain why there aren't any picture's or why joe didn't mention wally from the jump and that he has 3 kids and introducing him as her older brother when he shows will be odd and out of left field. also the mother left the family so she would have a kid cause joe would have full custody of the kids asince she left their family and was in the wrong.
bart can have the dual names of kid flash and impuls before that if he wants now.
I hope he's her cousin and he already has a good relation ship with both iris and barry cause with the half brother idea even though it's not his fault but the mother's it'll be an excuse for unneeded strainI'm curious to see whether he is supposed to be her half-brother or brother (maybe Iris mom was just pregnant when she left - I don't think he will be an older brother to Iris though) or cousin. I think he is supposed to be younger than the rest, though, and I've heard that he is supposed to be KF. Me personally? Wouldn't have a problem if he ends up with Linda, though, even if he is considerably younger than her because why not? Just don't think the CW is going for this if there is really such an age gap.
I can see what you're saying though, I find it believable for this Iris 2.0. This is clearly a different Iris from the one last season. I think she understands why he did it, but I think it could still sort of eat at her and she may express her resentment later on in the season.
I just think in this episode , the writers didn't want to repeat the "you lied to me" clique and have her yelling or ignoring Joe. The mother did stay away so there's that sense of abandonment and the fact it appears the mother didn't make an effort to come back into Iris's life until now . In that sense ,I could see how she could take that into account when responding to Joe.
I think it'll end up being more of a slow burn of conflicted emotions as opposed to a sudden outburst. She also only had her father's side of the story, and I suspect her mother may have her own version from her perspective, so it'll be interesting to see how the dynamic between the three of them play out.
Ultimately I'm fine with it because they're clearly trying to carve out more of a role for her on the show and give her more of a story arch than last season when she really was just reduced to being the love interest and a prize for Barry and Eddie to fight for.
He was less over the top, this probably helped. I liked his former portrayal as Cold from season one but, yeah, he came over even better in this one. Curious whether they go on to tone down all of the Rogues a bit from now on or whether it will only be Cold and Heatwave for Legends of Tomorrow as they have been both rather particular so far.
I hope he's her cousin and he already has a good relation with both iris and barry cause with the half brother even though it's not his fault but the mother it'll be an excuse for unneeded strain
Blur (DCU)
^^if he's same age as barry or older the blur should be used
Cold seemed to be less hammy this time, which is good. Could be lack of Heatwave but this was better Heatwave is way too over the top.
well he could still be younger but with in the same year age group as them . which can work a few months or a year at most. but any lower would be odd.Yes, that would probably put some damper to the relationship between him and Iris, at least at first. But I'm also pretty sure that CW would probably like this because drama...
Blur sounds good, especially because the actor seems to old to be KF (but I've from a couple of sources that he is supposed to be younger than Iris, though nothing is confirmed so far as far as I've seen) but maybe they will come up with some new superhero name or some slight alteration to an already existing one. I actually do like Impuls, even if it is supposed to be Bart's first superhero ego, I just like the sound of it, so I wouldn't be averse to Wally being called that either.
well he could still be younger but with in the same year age group as them . which can work a few months or a year at most. but any lower would be odd.
but say he was in that age group with them or older and he here's people calling him kid flash it'll be funny if he say's
"Helllll no, " "Don't call me that".
Wait, people are actually disappointed that Iris didnt go all "waah waah daddy you lied to me!!"? After all the character development between Iris and Joe do we really want to see Iris go all whiny on him again? I LOVED how she handled it. She was shocked, a little upset but ultimately handled it like an adult and understood her father was only looking out for her. That was good writing.
