Another good episode all around.

They're really doing a great job with Iris imo, and i'm glad the writers didn't go the predictable "you keep the truth from me!" clique with Joe ,and avoided having her sulking the rest of the episode. She handled it like an adult, and at least understood why he did what he did even if she may not have agreed with it.

Patty is so freaking cute.:ilv: I also thought the ear line was funny. They even had a brief apperance with Linda which will make things interesting once Wally West appears.

Good episode.

Yeah, I hope they maintain this level of quality when it comes to writing Iris's character on the show.

And I'm actually glad that they never allowed Barry and Linda's relationship to go any farther than it did last season, on a physical or emotional note as I'd hate it for Wally's future Mentor to have been too deeply involved with his potential future wife on the show.

This was a great episode for Captain Cold, he got some really good development in it to help him stand further apart from the rest of the Rogues. Was also nice to see Linda again, however brief, I hope that we see more of her once Wally becomes a big part of the show. And Patty continues to be a good addition, wish she'd had more of a role in the episode. REALLY glad that we won't have to deal with an episode or two of Iris being mad at Joe, that's a lot of drama that got dodged with the way that scene ended.

I haven't really been the biggest fan of Miller 's captain cold, but I really enjoyed him in this episode. Seems like he tweaked his take on the character a little bit and I hope he sticks with .

I doubt they will let Wally end up with Linda. Wally is supposedly going to become Kid Flash which means that he will still be at least a teenager (also, considering the actor's age, he is too old to play anything younger). Linda is about Barry's age, I don't think the CW will go for a couple with such a age difference. Right now, I think that Linda has been more or less a throw-away character, at least in regard to romances, which is a pity, I liked her and Barry being together.
Still, I'm glad they didn't end up together as Barry and Patty have some awesome chemistry from what I've seen so far and I really hope for them to get together at least for a while before he is going to end up with Iris (which I still hope he won't but I'm pretty sure is the goal for the writers).

Am I the only one who cracked up when Lisa was like "Yeah, but Lenny didn't let the guys kill you at Ferris Air, so you own him." to the Flash? I love that logic, especially when Cisco immediately jumped on board with it.

It irks me how Iris reacted to the news of Joe lying to her about her mom. This would actually have been a moment where she had every right to be pissed and actually should be because, come on, your father told you your whole life that you mother is dead when she really wasn't and sure, he did so because he thought he would help her that way and I think he did the right thing but from the standpoint of a daughter and how Iris has been portrayed in the last season in regard to things being kept from her this makes no sense. I like this more understandable Iris but for my taste she is suddenly a bit too understandable in regard of what has been kept from her. The writers probably got why so many people had a problem with her last season and decided to change that character trait from her, for which I'm really glad, but here it seems fake and like a complete 180 to how she has been portrayed so far. I would have liked the change to be a bit more subtle and graduate.

Also, how did Joe make it believable that her mom was dead when she really wasn't? Did they never visit the graveyard to visit her deceased mom? You usually tend to do that if a loved one is dead. Even if her body is lost for some reason, you still have a grave where you can go to pray and such.

No wonder Len turned out the way he did, with that father - and the killing off the villain of the episode at the end of each episode goes on, though this time it wasn't Barry who did the killing.
Pity, I thought that Cold's father actually was interesting and would have liked to see him again.
And meta-human wing at Iron Heights? Did I get this right? Has this been a thing so far or is this new?

He was less over the top, this probably helped. I liked his former portrayal as Cold from season one but, yeah, he came over even better in this one. Curious whether they go on to tone down all of the Rogues a bit from now on or whether it will only be Cold and Heatwave for Legends of Tomorrow as they have been both rather particular so far.

I can see what you're saying though, I find it believable for this Iris 2.0. This is clearly a different Iris from the one last season. I think she understands why he did it, but I think it could still sort of eat at her and she may express her resentment later on in the season.

I just think in this episode , the writers didn't want to repeat the "you lied to me" clique and have her yelling or ignoring Joe. The mother did stay away so there's that sense of abandonment and the fact it appears the mother didn't make an effort to come back into Iris's life until now . In that sense ,I could see how she could take that into account when responding to Joe.

I think it'll end up being more of a slow burn of conflicted emotions as opposed to a sudden outburst. She also only had her father's side of the story, and I suspect her mother may have her own version from her perspective, so it'll be interesting to see how the dynamic between the three of them play out.

Ultimately I'm fine with it because they're clearly trying to carve out more of a role for her on the show and give her more of a story arch than last season when she really was just reduced to being the love interest and a prize for Barry and Eddie to fight for.

no they will be the same age zone or have him be older if they make the mistake of being iris brother Idea.

I'd rather wally be iris cousin and he used to play and hang out with both barry and iris when they were kid's when he visted . but kid flash won't fit BTw I did put up some info in from a flash web sited which knows the entire history of the flash's and the blur was used as a code name.

Blur (DCU)

so it'll work for Wally. http://www.hyperborea.org/flash/appendix-villains.html#blur as to the cousin idea it'll also explain why there aren't any picture's or why joe didn't mention wally from the jump and that he has 3 kids and introducing him as her older brother in the show will be odd and out of left field. other tv meint some that have a mian chaarater kids fromthe jump like Sam hanna of NCIS L.a. also the mother left the family so she wouldn't have a kid cause joe would have full custody of the kids since she left their family and was in the wrong.

bart can have the dual names of kid flash and impuls before that if he wants now.

I'm curious to see whether he is supposed to be her half-brother or brother (maybe Iris mom was just pregnant when she left - I don't think he will be an older brother to Iris though) or cousin. I think he is supposed to be younger than the rest, though, and I've heard that he is supposed to be KF. Me personally? Wouldn't have a problem if he ends up with Linda, though, even if he is considerably younger than her because why not? Just don't think the CW is going for this if there is really such an age gap.

I hope he's her cousin and he already has a good relation ship with both iris and barry cause with the half brother idea even though it's not his fault but the mother's it'll be an excuse for unneeded strain

^^if he's same age as barry or older the blur should be used

bart can use both impulse and kid flash til another younger female or male speedter come to take ether name.

it's aname they should have given wally when barry came back too.

Well, if we're supposed to really see her as an Iris 2.0 I guess I'm fine with this development, then. Just thought they could have done it a bit more fluently. I'm happy that she has become a way more likable character so far, though.

And, yes, I can totally see that her getting to know a mother she has thought to be gone for good from her life and learning a lot of probably not too nice things can be nagging on her and lead to a stronger reaction later on. I'm really curious to see how her relationship with her mom is going to be portrayed and how Wally plays into all of this.

I think, everything considered, this is really a legit source for drama in this season, I just hope this won't become too heavy and start to drag on as I've the feeling that it is difficult to have drama without it becoming annoying to a degree if it goes on for too long.

Cold seemed to be less hammy this time, which is good. Could be lack of Heatwave but this was better Heatwave is way too over the top.

Yes, that would probably put some damper to the relationship between him and Iris, at least at first. But I'm also pretty sure that CW would probably like this because drama...

Blur sounds good, especially because the actor seems to old to be KF (but I've from a couple of sources that he is supposed to be younger than Iris, though nothing is confirmed so far as far as I've seen) but maybe they will come up with some new superhero name or some slight alteration to an already existing one. I actually do like Impuls, even if it is supposed to be Bart's first superhero ego, I just like the sound of it, so I wouldn't be averse to Wally being called that either.

Agree, I think they turn them down for LoT, at least a bit, even though I found the first season portrayal of the Rogues kind of funny at times as they really went all out there with it, especially HW.
They would probably not fit in with the other heroes in the new show should they stay like that, though, so I'm pretty sure HW's personality will also be a bit turned down the next time we see him.

well he could still be younger but with in the same year age group as them . which can work a few months or a year at most. but any lower would be odd.

but say he was in that age group with them or older and he here's people calling him kid flash it'll be funny if he say's

"Helllll no, " "Don't call me that".

Now I need to find a code name for felicity since there's a live action titans show she can't have oracle Seer hmm I''ll look up other types of prophet names

Yes, I can't imagine him being okay with such a name in that case either, I mean KF has kid in it and if you are over 20 that is pretty embarrassing. If he is their age, they will probably go with something that doesn't start with kid, also I'm not sure whether Barry really is at a place already where he can have a sidekick, as he is still very much a noob to all of this. I think they will probably end up more on a level of equals, so likely no KF.

that would be interesting and is save us saying Llinda is cradle robber or even though some people find it hot cougar or milf (the latter of which I'm not sure Linda want to be called til she has a kid literally )

She seem's volatile with the way the writers wrote her in the show already with how fast she was ready to drop the relation ship with barry as soon as she's came across any obstacle no matter how minor often. their fault

I wasn't in love with Lisa in her first episode but I really enjoyed her this time around.

^They made her character more sympathetic by giving her a good and tragic backstory that explains why she turned out that way. It also doesn't hurt that her relationship to Len is a really good one and you could easily grasp that they really care for each other.

I'm still not sure whether she isn't just toying with Cisco, though.

Iris diving made me chuckle.

Barry and Patty have amazing chemistry together. Can't wait to see what happens there.

Caitlin and Jay are getting closer, we'll see where that goes.

Iris almost being nonchalant and a bit too understanding. I think the writers toned her down but a bit too much. No need for hysterics but something more genuine would have to been nice.

Cisco and Lisa are awesome together. Lisa's story is tragic, I'm sure she'll be around again. I like her character a lot now.

Leonard/Wentworth just keeps getting better and better. Finally there's some humanity.

Lewis was radical, sad he was killed off. Big fan of Ironside.

An epic episode. Can't wait for the next one. I'm enjoying the dark overtones it's slightly out of realm but it's improving the show. Barry is finally maturing.

Wait, people are actually disappointed that Iris didnt go all "waah waah daddy you lied to me!!"? After all the character development between Iris and Joe do we really want to see Iris go all whiny on him again? I LOVED how she handled it. She was shocked, a little upset but ultimately handled it like an adult and understood her father was only looking out for her. That was good writing.

Yes, people are disappointed. Apparently, Iris can do nothing right on this show.
