The Flash The Flash Season 5: Episode 15 - King Shark vs Gorilla Grodd

Well at least that looks like something for viewers to sink their teeth into instead of monkeying around with Cicada.

Woohoo. I guess we knew this was coming (thanks Nora). I had forgotten about it until now though hah.

I wish someone would throw Cicada to the sharks. Maybe Grodd can do it after he takes over his mind.

Iris-centric preview pics not giving me a good vibe about this ep.

The title isn't iris centric. The episode description isn't Iris centric. The pics are literally probably of a subplot in this episode dealing with Iris and Joe. Every episode has a subplot. These pics are literally from 3 different scenes that would probably total to about 10 min or less. You will survive.

Iris really have y'all so triggered. She stay winning.

Huh. Pointing out the obvious sure have somebody triggered. Stay whining.

In light of what Carlos said at this weekend's FanExpo, it's interesting that they're test ballooning getting rid of him, Danielle and Tom. 3 characters whose very presence underscores how pointless and shoehorned Iris is. Not that I disagreed with getting rid of these 3 characters (especially stayed-way-past-his-expiration-date Wells). I'm just hoping they have the guts to at least make Iris a recurring character while they're at it. That or get rid of Grant and officially make it The Iris.

I can't imagine they'll ever do that. The second Iris is demoted to a reoccurring role, you'll have people jump out and claim the CW are being racist. They've cemented her into the core of the show too much now that it'll be tough to have her removed, though I'm truly shocked that Danielle, Carlos and Tom are likely leaving; that's a bit shake-up.

Be interesting to see who comes in to take their place. Presumably Ralph will be sticking around, and we'll have Joe back soon, but even he and Cecile aren't exactly main characters.

Hey dude you're the one who was whining about Iris being in majority of the photos and claiming she's taking over the show even though the photos clearly are from 3 different scenes.

I don't see how Iris is shoehorned into a show based on the comics she is from. You literally just named three of the shoehorned characters. Especially since said 3 characters exist only to make Barry look dumb. Maybe if they leave, Barry will actually be smart. But you probably don't care about development for Barry.

Well, like the Orville they just blew their whole budget.

Some quick thoughts on tonight's episode
- It was great to have Joe back. Didn't realize how much I missed having him around
- I wish we could get Grodd as a season long big bad. At least like a 4 episode storyline
- I wonder if Tonya could be a possibility to join "Team Flash" next season
- The fight lived up to expectations. It was pretty rad
- I'm with Cisco. Swedish Fish are delicious
- I wonder if that's the last we'll see of Grodd and King Shark for a while
- Where was Ralph this episode?

Forgot this was finally back on. Just watched a few clips on youtube. That fight was pretty cool.

Happy to see Joe back. “But Grodd hate banana.”

Have we ever seen CC Jitters from outside before?

Totally forgot King Shark was from Earth 2. I don’t even remember seeing Tanya before.

I laughed that the Flash Museum says that speedsters are immune to Grodd’s powers. Also the way Grodd just threw Flash and XS after climbing out of that parking garage.

Even though we often have full-on CGI scenes, the fight that mostly took place in some building took me out for those couple of minutes since it was different from what we usually get.

Pretty much little-to-no Cicada and Nora was a breath of fresh air for me.

Secret identities are once again meaningless on this show.

Seriously? Cisco was about to get eaten by a shark then chews barry out for saving him because he didnt give kingshark a choice on if he wanted the cure or not? Sometimes the writers just dont know how to handle situations.

I don't remember seeing Tanya before either and I agree, Cisco overreacting was dumb

Yay, another "Flash and others are incapacitated so others must save the day" ep. Do the producers and writers get a bonus for every one of these?

This episode couldnt have been more pointless if they tried. This season is just spinning wheels and cicada is not strong enough to carry a whole season as the main bad.

The character was in the season 2 King Shark episode, but played by a different actress. Thank the Good LORD I looked this up after seeing episode description and stuff from on reddit.
Oh, ok. When the characters were all "Hey, Tanya! Long time, no see!" I was just...

I was the same way, haha. I looked it up after the episode and it said she was in that episode in season 2. Did they expect people to remember her? Especially after a recast...

I am curious if she'll somehow make her way to "Team Flash" next season

Who was the actress playing Tanya? I know we've never seen her before in this series. I wouldn't mind her joining Team Flask.

Is King Shark from Earth 2? I don't even remember his origin now and how he showed up.

Is Cicada actually a meta or does he just have meta tech?

What was Joe supposed to be healing from? Was he also injured in the show like in real life?

Zibby Allen is the actress' apparently.

Yes. He showed up first as a gag and immediately was shot by Harry at the end of episode 4, season 2: The Fury of Firestorm (As much as I'd like to pretend I remembered this right off the bat, I actually had to look this up to make sure. I thought it was at the end of Family Of Rogues). And, funny enough, his first full episode was also an episode 15, in season 2: King Shark. If that wasn't on purpose by the writers, God is funny.

I think there's a mix going on somehow, due to the dagger being connected to him.

I was thinking he was talking personally, but he was zapped by Cicada's lightning (Thank God He reminded me of that). Thinking about it now, I don't think we've seen him use that dagger power since. lol.

In retrospect, a Flash series was a mistake for a network trying to do superheroes on a budget. It seems like in 4 out of every 5 episodes, the speedster good guys get sidelined forcing someone else that requires minimal or no fx to save the day.

If you don't want to use super speed to solve bad guy issues, why do this show?
