Nope he still owns his name. I don't know why Punk got to keep his name in WWE.

He signed before they began the policy of automatically changing everyones names. Also, he came in under Paul Heyman's time on ECW creative, and Paul loved his name and gimmick, so he got to keep it pretty much intact.

I think Punk was allowed to keep his name because he's not afraid. Most guys will do ANYTHING to get into WWE and will make all sorts of concessions to do so. Punk doesn't strike me as that kind of guy. I'm sure he loves being in WWE but he's not going to make stupid decisions for fear of losing his job or not getting a push.

Anyone think that they may recruit Daniel Bryan to join them? Punk could say that Bryan sold out by changing his name in order to meet WWE standards and that when he was Bryan Danielson, he was a bad ass and that now he's Daniel Bryan, he's doing nothing but feuding with Michael Cole (who Punk will no doubt insult) and dancing with the Bella Twins.

I'm thinking that may be the reason why Daniel won Money in the Bank.

Also, none of these guys (Hero, Double C, Colt Cabana) have signed with the WWE and they are already ten times better then what's left of Nexus.
