I think that might be the most detailed thing I have ever written about a character.

She deserves it.

:awesome:

Ontopic: Gwen Stacy is a beautiful character in these films played by the brilliant Emma Stone, who's excellent performance made us come to love the character of Gwen, and consequently, made the famous Death of Gwen Stacy so much harder to take.

She will be missed.

 Couldn't have said it better. Emma brought life to a long dead character in a very charming way.

An ASM2 promo I hadn't seen before:

Just read a CBR article which sums up my feelings towards Emma as Gwen rather accurately:

As far as I'm concerned, Stone's portrayal of Gwen Stacy needs to be celebrated on the same level as Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. She's that good in the role. Even more importantly, she took a character that's been dead for longer than everyone in the two films' target audience has been alive and made her three-dimensional. Her Gwen Stacy was passionate, charming, super smart, and fiercely independent.

Honestly, the way Gwen was portrayed, and her relationship with Peter, was something absolutely special, and I feel privledged to have seen it unfold as the movie went on. They've managed to make us really feel for this character, to make us feel grief and doubt about how the next films will go, kind of like how Peter Parker would feel, how will his life go on without Gwen? It's just so powerful, so beautiful and so genuine.

Emma and Andrew did so amazingly well together, they had this natural pull, this indescribable, intangible prescence that made you feel as if you were watching this pure, raw, unadulterated love come together. And to see something so natural, beautiful and perfect torn away in an instant, to see the absolute despondancy of those left behind, and the immeasurable aftermath of the end of something beautiful, is truely amazing, beautifully filmed, and unforgettable.

We might not have gotten Dark Knight quality films in this reboot, but we got something truely special in Emma and Andrews on screen/off screen love story that trancends most CBM's and gives this series something beautiful.

In an unscripted interview with Garfield, Stone, and Foxx, Foxx asked Emma and Andrew if their "personal" friendship made it easier for them to act together and play the roles of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. They both chuckled and answered yes.

You can clearly see that the two of them have such great chemistry in the film, and I feel like because of their personal relationship, it makes their roles so much more real and special. Not only are they in love in the movie, but they are in love out of the movie, and it is clearly evident within the films. Emma did a fantastic job loving Peter in the films. No other actress would have been a better Gwen than her.

Whoever will be MJ has a big hole to fill and I wouldn't want that responsibility. Whoever takes that on will be compared endlessly to Gwen, which although maybe unfair, it's the nature of this business.

I agree that Stone deserves some kind of nod for her portrayal. She pretty much IS Gwen Stacy. Raimi kind of made his Stacy what MJ should've been.

Slightly OT, I'm surprised there's very little Gwen merchandise available, especially for the films which she's been a major part of. I received this today (ordered it a while ago but international shipping :whatever: ), just need to get a frame for it:

I used to dig J. Scott Campbell's work back in the day but he kinda draws all his chicks alike to me. But in the case of Spider-Man artwork he draws his women like the classic 60s versions.

Yer its his Spidey-women I dig, I love his Black Cat art. However, I recently liked his FB page and I noticed exactly what you just said, it was hard to differentiate many of the characters he sketches.

Better actor in Stone! I like how every comic movie is getting better at making the comic come to life.

I'm about to get jumped but I wasn't the biggest Emma Stone fan once this series started. But she's proved that she can act other than comedy/sarcastic ish. She can do real drama as well. It showed a lot during the dim sum scene.

I knew Emma from Easy A,that film is just awesome, but
her better role was Gwen Stacy :hrt:
