The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Hans Zimmer Score thread

TDKR or TDK scores compared to Man Of Steel sound nothing alike, just like they sound nothing like Sherlock Holmes or The Thin Red Line, Zimmer has range, he has motifs that come back, but don't troll people.

Just bring back some of Horner's themes like what he did with the Pirates of the Carribean franchise when he took over and I'd be happy.

Just hope he goes more Pirates of the Carribean and less of what he does with Nolan films.

I think Horner's score to TASM is pretty great in that it's very different and original. The theme is great and memorable, and there are just interesting choices everywhere (Basketball scene, Subway scene, etc).

Super Hans and now Spider Hans. :hehe:

Even though I like continuity in franchises - themes and such, I'd love to see Zimmer go all out with his own version of Spider-Man.

I'm genuinly, right now, gutted by the news. Iloved Horner and was hoping he would come back to continue to build on the themes he created and create new ones. This is sad to me.

But I do love Zimmer. As long as he can bring the personal touch to the film that I felt Horner did, then ok :)

^Maybe Zimmer could continue with Horner's main melody?

I'm torn. I'm a big fan of Zimmer, thought he did really good with Man of Steel too. But I also really liked Horner's score for the first film and especially the main theme and the love stuff.

Agreed. I hope Zimmer will realize that Spider-Man isn't Batman (heavy bassdrums and synths). I also think he should keep Horner's main theme, but add his own touch to it.

I find it hard to believe Zimmer was Marc's choice, as well. Probably Sony's.

Are people freaking out yet?:hehe:

I'm not sure I like the news, but we'll see. I just pray the Horner theme gets booted. And I thank the Gods we won't get such abysmal cues as the basketball one. Maybe this'll turn out for the best, especially if he channels his Kung Fu Panda self.

Zimmer's pretty diverse in style/tone, so it's all on Webb now.

A collaboration would be interesting, I hope he keeps the main theme

the script seems to be phenomenal, Zimmer is doing the score and the cast is terrific. Can this movie fail?

Financially? Probably not. Quality-wise? Easily. We don't know if the script is phenomenal and I still don't like the villains choice.

Wait. Seriously?

Jesus, I love Zimmer but does he have to score EVERY single superhero blockbuster?
This doesn't anger me, but it sure as hell does frustrate me.

^Hah, I kinda hope it is. It's probably true, though.
Realizing that makes me sad.

If Zimmer was a good composer, then the dark knight rises isn't one of his best.

MOS is not watchable, but it is audible thanks to Zimmer.

Come on people. Can I throw some movies at you to get you excited?

The Lion King
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight Rises

Can you say, cha-ching?

Don't forget King Fu Panda (especially 2), Peacemaker, Gladi-f**kin'-ator, MI2 which is one of the most erection-inducing scores I've ever listened to.

But yeah, Zimmer is only known for Batman around here.

The Lion King is one of his most impressive, IMO.

Listening to that score now, 'Injection' to be precise. It's amazing.

The M:I-2 soundtrack makes men manlier and women lesbians.

The dad or the son? Or *gasp* the uncle?

Yeah, Zimmer mostly composes music for epic movies (and video games), and Shailene Woodley said that the script for the film is one of the best she has ever read, so I'm now really excited.
