People tend to oversimplify things around here and make them black and white. I like TASM. But for every good thing I cite, there's a bad thing, too. And it did feel incomplete to me, based on what it was trying to say. I wasn't being a smartass.

Definitely had a more Zimmer-like sound, while also using the theme/motif from TASM. Seems too early for the new score, but very well might be

^Listening to it again, I'm leaning towards it being either stuff produced exclusively for the trailer, or something very early Zimmer stuff, as it does sound a little strange, as of now.

Zimmer is scoring ASM2 - that's confirmed.

I think they're going to come up with something a lot deeper for the main theme. You have to remember, this footage was not meant to be seen by all of us. This was for a selected amount of people at Comic Con. They wanted it fast pace, and to get people excited. When the trailer releases they might go for a bit more of an emotional tone. Especially when they show anything of Peter's parents.

I doubt what we heard in the leaked trailer is going to match the final product. And about the emotional stuff - maybe that's where the collaborator comes in?

Also, work on film scores begin early in production, typically near the midway point.

Zimmer in particular starts working very early on.

But even then, composers get to read the script and chat with the directors before cameras start rolling.

So, its very possible that what we heard in the footage was his score.

It definitely wasn't Horner's. Though, it did share many similar cues.

Kinda like the Batman Begins theme compared to the TDK/TDKR themes.

Definitely had that feel especially at the 2:25 mark of the leaked footage

If that is Zimmer's score, which it probably is, it seems like they've reached a good balance. The Horner sound there, but as a minor base to Zimmer's new content. If that's what they're going to do, I'm happy. Zimmer gets to do his own thing and the past DNA is still there in some form. I especially liked the end part of the trailer music. It seemed to fit the darker tone of Electro's Times Square rampage.
