The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Hans Zimmer Score thread

It kinda sounds like some opening theme for the TV news. Expected something more badass, but maybe we'll get it.

LOL! I never thought of that. But now that you mention it, it's actually kinda frightening how much truth there is to that statement... I still dig it though:woot:

Yeah, I agree with the 'sounds like a TV news intro' comparison. I initially thought of Back to the Future when I first heard those horns but now I can't shake the "news at 11!" lol.

I don't think it sounds like a TV News intro at all, haha. I can picture the theme being used for Superman if anything.

If someone had told me it was the theme for the next Olympic games, I wouldn't have blinked an eye. There's definitely a "crowd intro" aura to it.

If this is anything to go by, Hans has knocked it out of the park for me.
The electronic aspect of the music is a great fit for Spidey.

Very 90s cartoon theme.

I'm out and about at the moment, unable to crank up the volume. I'll have to go somewhere to listen to this properly. :argh:

Do you guys think that song playing is Electro's theme?

makes sense considering it consisted of many voices saying various horrible things : paranoia, mental torture, self destroyer

it sounds overcrowded and overwhelming and confusing which is what I assume electro will be feeling.

I don't think it'll appear in the movie unless it over the credits, but that song sounds pretty badass.

I'd bet on it.

Been around the internet (comments section, searching for lyrics, holding a my mic with a music identifier software, etc) trying to find the song and it doesn't seem to be something that's already out there...

Also, the rising chant that builds up from it sounds really good and epic. If this is original work for the movie I can't wait to hear the whole OST...

Even if the movie sucks, I think we're up to receive another quality soundtrack by Mr. Zimmer and partners :)

I adore the music in this trailer. The dubstep/electronic feel really does fit. :yay:

The music was my favorite part. In fact when the "Enemies Unite" trailer was released my first comment was how the music was the most Spider-Manish OST we've ever gotten.

I borrows from the 90's animated series a lot and Unlimited which is just pure awesomeness.

So I had a proper listen.

Dat Zim.

This score is going to be rock and roll.

Just listened to the sizzle myself.

I could tell some of it was definitely Zimmer. The beginning had a mix of the official trailer music with more layers added. The last part with dub step electronic I'm not too sure of if it was Zimmer or not. I liked it though.

I don't really care for generic dubstepish sounds, that part is probably remixed for the trailer so it fits with Zimmer's score.

I hope the whole score isn't actually dupstepish but preserves this interesting meld of electronic noise/music with orchestral pieces we're hearing in Electro's origin bit.

Riiight. Too dub step would be a bit outlandish and not in a good way. I'm really curious now to what his score will be. Partly because I'm not sure if any of the music in this sizzle is his lol.

None of that was dubstep...

There were electronic elements.

It was no more "dubstep" than the Spider-Man Unlimited intro theme and let me tell you that wasn't dub step.

That whole show was ahead of its time I tell you! One of the best Spider-Man shows we ever got in my view. Just putting that out there. :(

I guess so haha. My bad. I never got into the whole "dub step" thing so I don't know the exact elements it requires for it to be dub step. So while the electronic sounded like dub step to me, remotely, I labeled it that.

I really do like electronic elements when sprinkled right though so don't get me wrong...I'm waiting on it. :yay:

It's obviously also influenced by this opening:

If some of that didn't sound like Zimmer to some of you by the way it's because Pharrell worked on this too. Not to mention it has Johnny Marr (The Smiths, Modest Mouse etc), Mike Einziger (Incubus) and David. A . Stewart of Eurythmics.

That sound you're hearing definitely makes sense if you know any of those guys and their associated acts.

as for me, the score in the sizzle trailer is awful. Those 'phone-call' sounds are really annoying... And this whisperring rap is **** too

^ For sure. I definitely hear it in the Unlimited intro. I'm not familiar with much of those guys except for Zimmer and Pharrell.

I guess I've just been concentrating on Zimmer so far and taking the other lightly. If what you're saying is right, it truly is a collaboration.

I do get annoyed with the way people assume all electronic music with a lot of bass is dubstep.

I clearly doubt that the site music is actually main theme. It doesn't fit well with this epic soundtrack we heard in the trailer, although it's interesting.

Btw. Do you think that Pharrell will do a official song for the movie? Do you think it will happen because we haven't had that stuff since... I don't know, first Raimi's?

Man, it would be great if Pharrell actually made an official song for the movie.

The music in the trailer was was pretty dope. I want to hear more that theme when Electro appears.
