The Hip Hop/Rap Thread - Part 2

Do not post videos that contain profanity. They are against the Hype Rules. Here is your reminder as I have to remind people way too much.

Travis Scott is meh to me

The songs I like from him, I REALLY like. But they arent many

But that's just his music. To me he seems like a jacka** and a piece of s***

Agreed, I love "Antidote" and "Piss On Your Grave" on his new album, but that's about it.

I saw him live at Lollapalooza, where he incited a riot after only performing for a song or two. Honestly, it was pretty fun. We need ignorant artists like him and Chief Keef. :o

I liked Maria Im Drunk, Nightcrawler, and Piss on Your Grave.
I also like Drugs You Should Try It from Days Before Rodeo
and 16 Chapels

I dont care about the riot, I just dont like how he's always flipping out on people (fans, concert goers, camera men). There are also other rumors but Im going off what Ive actually seen.

He's overhyped as hell. If Kid Cudi and Kanye did a DBZ fusion, Travis Scott would be the off brand/bootleg version of that mixed in with the looks of ASAP Rocky.

Not a terrible rapper/artist by any means, just probably the most over hyped I've seen since Drake.

LOL,that's perfect.

Yeah I'm a fan of his music, but I try to ignore anything that's not about his music.I tend to do that more often with most rappers I listen to nowadays.

I try to do that with any musician, actor, director, etc.

Same,Separate the man from the art (with some extreme exceptions).

Yeah. Like i cant watch The Cosby Show anymore. And that was literally in my top 5 favorite shows of all time

But I just can't do it. I tried, I can't

I just heard this song 500 homicides from Lil Durk, never heard of him, but man does that song go hard.

What's his reputation offstage? Because unless he's a irrevocable prick, I doubt his attitude's much different than a lot of artists in the industry -- especially big names.

His antics have reported been similar to other artists (i.e. immaturity) but I have a worst taste for them because I've seen him first hand. Hopefully, the guy has gotten better than what I saw 2 years ago now.

I feel you.

This guy's more or less a joke whenever his stuff's posted online, but I kinda dig this one :o

This is the last time i am posting this.

you CANNOT post videos anywhere on SuperHeroHype that have profanity in them. To do so will result in an infraction from here on out.

i mean, it's literally the post at the top of this page and i have been more than lenient. get it together people

Sorry about my post a few weeks ago, ComicChick. Wasn't aware of the rules at the time. But if you're gonna get an infraction, it might as well be in the hip hop/rap thread :o

Anyone listen to Documentary 2? I'm digging it, but I'll probably only stick to 2-3 songs after listening to it one time through. Same feelings toward Dre's Compton, Tyler's recent album, 90059, Rodeo, If You're Reading This, B4DA$$, etc.

Only hip hop albums I've had on constant repeat this year are ALLA, Summertime '06, TPAB, Surf, Earl's new album, and a few others.

Still an insane year for hip hop, though.

I can't believe we're not going to get a Nas and Az album

Was this something that was confirmed or just something you assumed because they've never done one before?

And speaking of collaborations, what ever happened to the supposed Nas/Common album? I still hope that happens because that would be dope af.

Yeah...I could see an EP or short album with them together really being something. But Com has a history of collab albums that never happen: he was supposed to do one with Q-tip, there was supposed to be one with him, Pharoahe Monch, Black Thought & Jeru the Damaja back in the late 90's...

best veteran rap LP 2015:
Man Plans, God Laughs

I had alot of Wu stuff as a kid. Never really understod Rza beats. Now I LOVE everything he does! Man does the beats hit hard. I was a soul/r&b sample simpleton back then :-)

Now I can enjoy both LL's mr. Smith and some old school Kiilla beez!
