For anyone looking, Haunter is up on netflix streaming.

please review it, if you remember to. i'm always looking for more 80s horror to watch.

It was pretty meh. Not awful, but nothing all that good. Lots of murders, but nothing too compelling.

Check out this website, looks to be a great reference site for finding horror movies and info on them: www.horrorpedia.com

Came across a movie on there called NIGHT SCHOOL that looks like an 80s slasher worth checking out.

Khal Drogo is a werewolf: the movie!

The poster I did for the local Cult Movie Thursdays we have here in my town, one of my FAVORITE slashers ever made, it's too bad the weather was horrible but people still came out, next weeks showing is They Live!

My Bloody Valentine is indeed great.

I really dig this poster for this new film Oculus. I've been hearing very good things about it for a while now.

At this point I don't have much faith in what they're talking about doing with F13th in the first place, I will only support it if

A. Jason is included and
B. if it's NOT another found footage piece or garbage.

Another F13? Jeez. Have they said they're doing another RZ Halloween on top of that? :whatever:

The only slasher movies I've really enjoyed were the Freddy ones because they were so imaginative with the dreams. I'm tired of the 'tromp after and stabbity' methods of the other ones. Even after they went totally cheeseball Freddy was still neat to watch.

Although I wouldn't say no to a FvsJ sequel. :oldrazz:

Friday the 13th didn't originate the slasher but it did elevate it in its own way, only to eventually stumble itself. I thought the remake was decent but I also wasn't dying to see another sequel go forth. And if there is a sequel with found footage, I will not be watching it unless they do a beyond impressive job and truly innovate it to a new level.

So, I won't be seeing a found footage Friday the 13th. I can't see them doing anything with the format to make it new or innovative.

A Nightmare on Elm Street however I could see more of, if they dropped the serious tone some and added more of the comedic element that defined Freddy in later years. Not over the top comedy like he sunk to but that dark humor he had in his prime.

There is a place for well made movies where topless hotties get hacked to death by a masked maniac. Sure, there are a hundred low budget versions of this every year, but an occasional one with a decent budget and actors who bothered to read a script before the cameras started rolling are welcome.

But I'm not going to get too excited about it. That's what Netflix is for.

Just watched The Ganzfeld Haunting (2014)...an early contender for my worst movie of the year award.

I typed up a really long review pointing all of the many, many flaws...but frankly, this movie is such a mess that it doesn't deserve the words.

In short...4 college students are doing their psych final in an old house and are trying to recreate an old study to see if people's thoughts can be transmitted. Here's all you need to know...the official synopsis claims that there are 5 students...and in fact I just listened to an interview with the producer who also claims that there are 5 students...but there are only 4. THAT is how careless the people behind this movie were!

Taylor Cole and Rumer Willis star, and spend half the film in their underwear. While the students are supposed to be working, they brought truckloads of drugs and alcohol and at least half the films run time are scenes of drug use, making out etc. What little plot there is was delivered so directly in voice-overs from the ghost etc that it was severely over-explained...but the movie was so sloppy that nothing made sense anyway because huge things were left unexplained. Here's one example...the cops make a point of mentioning that the murder weapon was never found...then they find it laying on the floor in the same room that the murder took place in, surrounded in dried up blood.

Okay...I'm starting to rant. Skip this trash.

One of the best films inspired by Ed Gein (who also inspired Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Silence of the Lambs etc...) with a great central performance by Roberts Blossom.

I keep meaning to watch Insidious but since my TV broke I just haven't felt like it as my sound on my laptop, even with headphones, isn't that great.

Any American Werwolf in London fans here?

Perhaps the best transformation for ANY creature in any film.

Some serious SFX magic drug had to be kicking around on the set of every werewolf flick that year.

I liked it. The makeup effects were great. I liked it much better than the Paris sequel.

I love that movie so much its inspired me to write my own werewolf screenplay.

Does anyone know who was on Bakers FX team for that movie? I'm pretty sure Bottin was on it among some other greats.

Oh my God, Werewolf in Paris is horrid. Watched it once many moons ago. I can still remember the condom scene. Ughh.

Ohhhhh yeaaaaahhhh Bottin was a fan of Bakers and was allowed to help out.

Baker said most of the FX team was just teenagers and fans of his work who wanted to partake in a horror movie.

I believe the entire transformation scene was done by Baker and his fan-base of teenagers he invited to help him out.

Really shows that sometimes you need a bunch of great hearts to gather to make some amazing Horror/Cinema moments.
