Day 2: The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror V, VI, VII, and XII.

Technically not horror, but still Halloween related. Besides, I'm watching them at work (shhhhh, I'm really not supposed to be doing that).

Oh, but it is horror. Treehouse of Horror V traumatized me (and my older brother).

I'm planning to see Annabelle tonight. Hope it's just as good as The Conjuring but the current rating on Rotten Tomatoes is disappointing.

The Conjuring was very good.

Patrick Wilson is becoming quite the horror king recently.

Just got back from the movie. Wasn't great but wasn't bad either. Not as good as The Conjuring. It was so-so. It had a few good scares.

Day three, and I've already fallen behind because... well, I have no idea why I just dropped like I did when I got home, but I did. Now that I'm awake, I should be able to get 1 in tonight. At least I got some new flicks to choose from, like Carrie '76, The Fly '86 and the complete Nightmare on Elm Street on BD.

Now I just need to see what I can do with the DVDs...

0.5: John Carpenter's The Thing
1. Carnival of Souls '62
2. Thir13en Ghosts '01
3. Cabin in the Woods.

Wish I didn't have work later today or I start burning through the Puppet Master series.

Day 3 (well, technically Day 4 as it's well after midnight, but I sleep during the day so. . .) Watching Disney's Legend Of Sleepy Hollow. Might watch the Tim Burton version later.

Edit: Finished watching Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow, then started in on Scary Movie.

Watched Nightmare on Elm Street 2 on Netflix last night after my wife went to bed. Forgot how awful that one is.

Had to watch Tucker and Dale vs Evil to balance everything out.

Nightmare on Elm Street 2. That's the "gay" one, right?

Yep. Although maybe not as good a movie as Parts 1 or 3, Freddy's Revenge at least had a creepier atmosphere than many of the later installments (namely Parts 4 through 6).

It scared me as a kid. My parents didn't let me watch horror movies (except for Ernest Scared Stupid...man, it traumatized me), but I hid behind a door and watched some of it...:hehe:

I hated Freddy long before I saw it, because of some pictures of him in a TV magazine. I couldn't believe how scary he was...and one of my friends told me that he was real. "If you dream about Freddy Krueger, you will die!"

The best movie is the first one, though.

I also watched the Carrie remake this morning before my wife woke up (due to a cat that decides to go crazy at any moment, I usually wake up really early on weekends).

That was... a movie, I guess. Not the worst thing ever, but very much did seemed like a shinier, inferior version of the original. Maybe I need to watch the original again since it's probably been a decade since I have seen it, but I remember that movie like terrifying me when I saw it. The remake had none of that.

If you're going to watch it, might as well just fast forward to the prom.

Why fast forward to the prom? They showed the climactic scene in the trailers...just in case someone wanted to watch this who hadn't seen the original.

I say that because it was such a "meh" movie (not good but not terrible enough to elicit any real emotion) throughout, that if you know the story from the original, might as well just go for the payoff at the end.

Even after all these years, The Exorcist is still one of the most terrifying films out there.

Yes, I think the dream sequence and the vision of the old mother on the bed are some of the scariest images from a horror movie ever.

It's probably unpopular to say this, but the only horror movie that has truly frightened me is The Blair Witch Project. If I take a walk through the woods and think of the movie...everything is ruined. It doesn't matter if it's night or day, I just want to get the heck out:hehe:

I haven't watched it in years, and I won't see it again...

In regards to The Blair Witch Project, the house at the end, for me is most unsettling.

Freddy's Revenge is alright; best Krueger makeup, but that pool scene is confusing as hell. Who's dreaming there?

I'm with you on this one. I remember I couldn't sleep and I even cried once after I had seen it because I was so terrified of how it ended. Haven't seen it in a while, I'd be up for it.

The opening to The Exorcist definitely sets the film on another level. It's so different from the rest of the movie, but establishes an ancient evil.

I decided to pass on Annebelle due to the reviews and word of mouth. Sad that there isn't any decent horror movies coming out this month to coincide with Halloween. I am even sad that Paranormal Activity 5 has been pushed back into next year. Pretty weak October I say.

Just watched Horns (2014) which just came out, starring Daniel Radcliffe and Juno Temple. In a year where there's way too many similar films, this stands out as a unique, crazy film.

Radcliffe has loved his girlfriend his entire life...but now she's dead and everyone thinks he killed her. Maybe he did? But he has a new problem...he's growing horns on his head and everything has gone nuts!

This is definitely a unique movie. The first half is a BLAST...funny and weird. Once the actual storyline kicks in and we start to unravel the mystery, it kind of loses a step. Maybe my mind wasn't set to care and be thrilled after the insanity of the first half....maybe the mystery was too obvious for me to get wrapped up in...but that isn't meant to suggest that I didn't like it. Some people may criticize the kinda bad CGI, but I don't care...it's a small budgeted film.

Definitely worth a watch for the concept alone.

Because who doesn't like some good old fashioned shot on ****teo? So happy my friend picked up the Basement set for me a few years back.
