Nice List, since you already have two Henenlotter films, may I suggest a 3rd one, Brain Damage, which is also pretty good and insane.

oh yeah, i forgot about brain damage. that one was pretty good and weird. I'm gonna put that in place of Piranha 3D, since thats kinda an odd one out on the list....despite its greatness, ha.

So I picked up the 2 Disc Edition of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. I've of course seen it and like it, but I also picked up the Scream Factory releases of Psycho II and Psycho III. I have never seen them, but I was surprised to find out that they actually did pretty well critically. So I'm looking forward to watching them.

I've heard Psycho IV is alright, didn't read reviews on it, but it seems to not only not be in continuity with the other sequels, but not have great word of mouth.

So does anyone have any recommendations for good streaming sites? I really want to see The Babadook, but I have had an usually hard time finding a streaming source for it. Usually when I type a film into google I find a streaming site with the film on there pretty quick.

So I'm guessing no one has an idea of where to find Babadook streaming then?

Well, Mods don't usually like this sort of thing, especially if you're asking for free movie streaming sites.

Anyway, I looked up The Babadook on IMDB and it appears as though it's only been doing rounds at festivals. There's no USA release date as of yet, there is a UK release date but it's not until October 24th.

Honestly, just use google to search for stuff and explore from there.

i got around to watching Psycho II for the first time last night...and it was actually really good! Seriously, everyone needs to check that out.

The Psycho sequels were actually pretty decent even if unnecessary. They didn't feel overly cash cow as some of the Freddy or Jason sequels.

The Babadook is something I've been fairly eagerly anticipating...and have not seen available to view on legal pay sites. My assumption is that as soon as it becomes available there, people will start uploading to the steal-o-vision sites. But otherwise, it would take an unscrupulous reviewer to get a copy worth watching (I've never understood how people can watch buttcam recordings of movies in theaters).

Ah, my bad. I didn't think it would be an issue because the sites themselves aren't illegal.

But yeah, I've been searching for it like crazy on google, and nothing pops up. With all the great reviews it's been getting, and the great trailer, I've been really interested in it. I really enjoy horror films that manage to be both good films as well as good horror films (like The Conjuring) and The Babadook looks to be in the same vien.

Also, what are people's thoughts on the upcoming Annabelle movie? I was hoping they'd bring back the Warren characters, but it doesn't seem they are. And that's drastically reduced my excitement for the film.

I loved Psycho 2. Part 3 was meh. Part 4 was good showing the back story of Norman and his mother. Although Olivia Hussey is not how I imagined Norman's mother.

Yeah, Psycho 2 was actually not bad at all, but it should have been made in black and white.

From what I've read and heard, they have COMPLETELY changed the true story and have made it 100% fiction. The story in The Conjuring is actually the closest to the real story. They're trying to sell this movie like it will be "connected" to The Conjuring (like a spin-off), but it's actually a totally separate thing. Not sure what the strategy was here.

On another note, I want to see Ouija. As standard as it looks, it also looks oddly refreshing.

I'll most likely see it.

Well to be fair, they fabricated a lot of The Conjuring as well, but they still respected the actual family about it.

If it's from the same writers and crew, I expect Annabelle to be as awesome as its predecessor.

I'm still mad he beat me to the punch. The trailer looks pretty bleh, but it looks better than what was being reported before the trailer was released. It was originally reported to be an action-adventure movie with some horror elements.

Agreed, love Psycho 2. For me I equate it to Jaws 2. I love Jaws 2 just like I love Psycho 2. They aren't the original, but to me they're still great.

Yeah, I was expecting a kid-friendly movie like The Haunted Mansion, Jumanji, or Goosebumps. I finally saw the trailer in theaters and I was like, "Whoa, this is actually legit!" It was a pleasant surprise.

I feel like Jaws 2 always gets unfairly lumped in with Jaws 3 & Jaws: The Revenge

That's cause it does. People don't give Jaws 2 enough credit. Jaws 2 has more of that classic Jaws feeling over 3 and Revenge. And come on now, Revenge was really pushing it with the idea that the shark was out to get the Brody family haha.

At least the first 2 made more sense and could actually happen with the idea of a rogue shark making it's way into the area. Over a serial killer shark aiming for the Brody's haha.

Watched The Last Circus at 7:30 this morning... still don't know how I feel about it.

Just watched Oculus (2014) which is the best movie to ever come out from WWE Films.

Wait...that isn't saying much.

It's better than The Conjuring. There, I said it.

The Conjuring was VERY well done...but it was basically a Greatest Hits album. It's all the scares and story points you loved in other movies, compiled into one film.

Anyone who reads my posts knows that I am SICK of haunted house/possession films. Somehow, this actually felt fresh. I'm actually shocked that I just typed that. But the mixing of two stories together, and the unspoken theme that you can't escape your past worked with me. Is it perfect? No. But I found myself not knowing what was real...what was happening now and what was happening in the past etc etc. I was on the edge of my seat as the story built. I could nitpick it but I won't because I just watched a haunted house/possession film and was excited while watching it.

It doesn't hurt that Karen Gillan could star in a surveillance tape of a vicious assault on my grandma and I'd still love it.

lol It's not better than The Conjuring at all. Me thinks your love for Karen Gillan has you biased towards it. :oldrazz:

Again, The Conjuring is good. In fact, it's as good as it could possibly be. But as I said...it's a Greatest Hits album. It was like seeing a movie I loved before, again. If I love a band, and a tribute album comes out...no matter how well made that tribute album is, no matter how good the production and playing are etc, it isn't going to "wow" me like the original band/songs did. Oculus had its issues. It was not "as good as it could possibly be." But it didn't feel like I was watching a movie I had already seen before. It was just fresh enough to not feel like a total replay. That wins major points in my book.

Oh...and The Conjuring has Shanley Caswell, who I am also quite fond of and would LOVE to see become a major star...so your Karen Gillan point falls flat.

I agree. :yay:

I love James Wan, but The Conjuring is overrated. I even think Insidious is his better film.

I'm working on my list of films for this Halloween's 31 days of Horror film fest. Anyone else do this?

It's weird...I go most of the year watching 2 or 3 Horror movies per week...and then in October I end up watching 0 the entire month. Not sure why. I keep wanting to do one of those month-long lists...but it never pans out.
