So, i'm planning to watch various horror films to suggest in an article for Halloween, however, i don't want to go with the most obvious candidates like the original Halloween, Exorcist, shinning, nightmare before christmas, conjuring, The Ring, etc.

Some of the titles i'm planning to watch are:
- Trick R Treat
- The Haunting
- Halloween III
- Cabin in the Woods
- Frankenweenie

Trying to put a bit of everything, but focus more on stuff teens nowadays would watch, anyone can recommend some more films? I need to put more recent horror films.

You should watch You're Next

The Babadook? It Follows?

Blair Witch Project, The Woman in Black, Mama, Sinister, The Devil Inside, TrollHunter?

I watched It Follows and Woman in Black before, while i liked them (loved It Follows in particular), i'm not sure i will add them, trying to find more fitting films for Halloween. Woman in lack definitely has the look and tone right, but i don't remember being very impressed by the plot, then again, i'll probably recommend Halloween III, which isn't particularly good, so i might give it another try.

Will definitely take a look at Babadook Blair Witch, Mama, Sinister, You're next and TrollHunter. Thanks for the recommendations.

My "31 Days Of Horror" thus far.

Days 1 & 2: Lost Girl Season 5 (technically not horror, but Halloween themed at least)

Day 3: A Nightmare On Elm Street 4 (I watched Parts 1 through 3 last weekend)

Day 4: Friday The 13th (1980, I won't waste my money on that piece of crap remake)

Going for lighter fare this year, with plenty of room for more serious stuff later:

Day 1: Beetlejuice
Day 2: Halloween III: Season of the Witch
Day 3: Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins
Day 4: Cursed

Tonight is most likely Casper (1995) or Hocus Pocus. :yay:

Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943) Lon Chaney Jr.
House of Frankenstein (1944) Boris Karloff

The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) Peter Cushing
The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958) Peter Cushing

Old school cool

If anyone is in the mood for a bizarre creature feature you can't go wrong with 1983's "Xtro." Xtro is primarily an alien abduction film but has some truly odd and often gorey scenes that also push out into some Twin Peaks territory.

Definitely recommended if you're looking for something a bit different.

I watched Frontier(s)(2007) yesterday and it was great, disturbing and extremely gory. French horror hasn't disappointed me yet.

I sometimes like to imagine how things might be different if they'd gone with the original title (The Babysitter Murders), hadn't set it on Halloween (that was a simple yet brilliant suggestion), and had Michael wearing the other mask option that they had (a clown mask)? It'd wouldn't have had quite the same vibe to it now would it?

I watched The Wolfman (2010) last night for the first time.

I enjoyed it for then most part. The CGI didn't really bother me that much as I was really interested in the story. Anthony Hopkins was amazing. Hugo Weaving could have been used more.

First 5 days down, 26 more to go.

31 Days of Horror Marathon
Day 1: Cooties - 7.5/10
Day 2: A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night - 9/10
Day 3: The Invisible Man - 9/10
Day 4: Children of the Corn - 8/10
Day 5: The Den - 8.5/10

Somehow managed to only just now find out about this...but I'm beyond excited now.
Can't wait.

It probably still would have been a good movie, but dropping the mask and more importantly the Halloween theme would surely have taken away the movie's iconic status.

I just watched Dead End(2003) and I really enjoyed this one, it was tense but also funny, it has a very old school feel to it.

I feel that the Wolfman could have been a lot better if Johnston was the director from the start. He did what he could with the salvage job.

So on TV they're playing a few movies a week in the lead up to Halloween, which is good for me because I'm too lazy to seek them out. :funny:

Last night was Freddy vs Jason (just terrible, ended up skipping between it and something else) and after that was The Devil's Rejects, which I didn't watch at all. So I'm not off to a great start at my first attempt to watch a lot if horror movies.

Tomorrow night is Scream, which I've seen a few times and really enjoy, and Halloween, which I've never seen but have wanted to for ages.
