Thanks to HBO Max, I'm watching through the Leprechaun series, which I haven't seen before.
I'd like to know how this franchise made it to 8 movies. I mean, the first movie was passable entertainment, but it's all been going downhill from there. How and why did they keep making these? Was there actually a fanbase for these movies in the 90s?
Also there's like no continuity between the movies. The titular leprechaun got properly killed at the end of both 2 and 3, yet he's brought back at the beginning of the next movie with no explanation of how he survived.
Btw Leprechaun 4 is such a shameful rip-off of Aliens.![]()
It were the 90s and slasher movies where pretty popular...especially when they did silly stuff.
But yeah, that this got so many is beyond my understanding.
I could understand 3 maybe 4...but 8? Jesus.
I mean the idea of it is not the worst, but the execution most of the time was more trashy than anything else.
Maybe thats the fun in it, being a over the top trashy slasher...a bit like sharknado or so.
