The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Parts 1 & 2

Sounds very distasteful...but expected.

I'd say PSH would rather they do what's necessary to complete the film he worked hard on than have them make it even harder on everyone with some other work around. This is the most logical approach.

I mean, if you had busted your ass on a film and died, can you say you'd care what they did to complete the film? It's not like they are going to have his character doing something PSH wouldn't approve of. The body double will be doing what's in the script. What PSH already had agreed to.

I can't speak for dead people , but i wouldn't like to see anyone from my family digital recreated just for a film. Even me lol.

It's only one scene. Do you really think it's going to make any difference to his family seeing the real PSH on screen for two more films with one scene of a digital PSH as opposed to two films without that scene? For them the whole of his work in the next two films are going to be a mix of emotions for them. That one scenes isn't making that any worse.

If they're clever enough it might be seamless enough Unless the scenes he needed to finish were dialog heavy.

Yep. I really hope it won't be too hard on them. While I think this is perfectly ok (the show must go on) I get how much it's gonna suck having to do this...for everyone involved.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Actress Gwendoline Christie Replacing Lily Rabe In ‘Hunger Games’
By MIKE FLEMING JR

While Lionsgate hasn’t divulged how it will deal with the tragic death of Philip Seymour Hoffman as it goes forward with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay–Part 2, the studio has just confirmed that it is replacing Lily Rabe in the role of Commander Lyme with Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne on HBO’s Game Of Thrones.

Rabe was forced to drop out due to a scheduling conflict with a previous commitment to Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare in the Park. Commander Lyme, one of the leaders of District 13, hails from District 2 and is a past winner in a previously unknown installment of Hunger Games. Christie is a badass warrior on Game Of Thrones, who save the life of Jaime Lanniseter and is incredibly convincing in that role.
But I love them both... :csad:

I don't know who this chick is who is replacing Rabe but I'm sure she will be fine.

That deadline article annoys the hell out of me. This recasting has nothing to do with Hoffman's death so why mention that? The media are so goulish. Mockingjay: Part 2 comes out in November of 2015, why on earth should Lions Gate release an official press release to tell us what we already know. They are going to have to use good old fashion movie magic to complete the film, it's not some great mystery.

She should do well in the role. And throwing Hoffman's name in there is just click bait IMO. It really wasn't necessary to bring up except to get people to read their article.

I am hoping that the movie will be less depressing than the book.

all i know Rabe from is American Horror Story but I feel like i recognize her face from other things that i can't recall lol

Jennifer Lawrence is great but she can't pull the money Hunger Games does out of nothing. Fox thinks it can bank on her name and the X-Men name to sell tickets even though X-Men Origins: Wolverine proved the audience won't see **** just because of notable names alone.

I think a Mystique movie would not do very well no matter who starred in it. I also don't believe Lawrence is staying past her contract. I've been known to be wrong before though, I mean I didn't think J.J. Abrams would direct Star Wars and here we are.

There would have to be a really good story to justify Mystique getting her own spinoff over some of the other characters, male or female. She's had a long and storied history in the comics but she's also at best a neutral character though mostly seen as a villain.

Well, you can also tell when Natalie Dormer's around with that haircut.
