same guys loved john carter too and we saw all those negative review pour in
I was basing that comment on the Hollywood Reporter article posted on the previous page saying it's tracking to open bigger than Breaking Dawn: Part 1 (which made $138.1 on its opening weekend). The budget for this movie is reportedly $75m after tax breaks, right? So if it makes as much as Breaking Dawn, that would be less than $12m short of doubling its budget.I can't see it happening, Alice in Wonderland holds the record for non sequels and that's at $116 million.
Who said every film had to appeal to men? I think its quite clear, from a box office perspective, that if you can appeal to both men and women then you have much better odds at having a box office hit because that equals more people watching your film. Why does every film have to appeal to men? And again twilight had no trouble making tons of cash without men. Thor appealed to men and didn't make as much as three out of four twilight movies and John Carter also appealed to men and it just bombed. Men aren't the be all when it comes to film. Anyways; I sure hope that this film is good, so far I am digging the book and I'm only 70ish pages in. It's not the greatest thing ever but it is interesting so far.
Ah, my mistake. Well even if those tracking numbers were really far off, I think it could very likely break that AiW record you mentioned.Yea I assumed that's what you meant, that's what I was replying to.
I'll be seeing it on the SaturdayAnyone else going to the midnight shows? Or the first day shows?
