The Hunger Games

I doubt it. Most likely go on Itunes right after it airs on GMA. But if it's on Itunes then I hope it's on Zune. I really want to watch it on my televison over and over.

What scenes are you excited to see the most in the trailer?

I'm really interested in seeing how they make the Capitol look. How futuristic the designs will be. I say this because the book leaves a lot of interpertation about the specific designs of the Caiptol. I mean, ppl and their fashion is touched upon but I sometimes forget when I'm reading the books how everything looks and how advanced they're supposed to be.

Yeah the Capitol is definitely high on the list. So is the Cornucopia scene with everyone lined up around it and maybe the parade. But I could live without the parade. Action shots are a given.

I'm excited for the rush to the Cornucopia and seeing a few deaths right off that bat. That will be awesome.

I liked it, but it didn't pack the punch I wanted it to. Also, I feel like anyone who's never read the books would be completely confused after watching that lol.

I thought it was Great there's a lot more in the story than what they shown they didn't even show any footage of the games itself.

Im interested in this film but i have to agree i was looking for something more thrilling to grab me in the trailer

That's a good trailer, some of the scenes they put in the trailer from the book has translated well on-screen, especially the reaping scene and the gesture Katniss does after [BLACKOUT]Rue's death[/BLACKOUT]. I think it's good that they didn't show too much footage from the games and just show prior to that to build the momentum when they're finally at the games.

Not a good trailer to win people over who were still "iffy" and unconvinced of its hype. It's all build-up and from what a co-worker tells me that was the first couple of chapters.

Also, it looks like........

Prim gives the Mockingjay pin to Katniss instead of Madge. I heard Madge has been completely removed from the movie. Which begs the question, how did Katniss' little sister get a Mockingjay pin in the first place?

The selection bit was great. Too bad they had to blow it for the trailer machine. Everything else looks like it was made by a director that's new to the tent pole market.

My sister hasn't read the books yet (she's planning to start them when she finishes Game of Thrones) and her exact response was "that looks kickass".

Definitely more of a teaser, since it didn't show any of the games, but looks good so far.

Lionsgate just sent out a press release that said the trailer only contained footage from the first half of the movie (obviously to all the fans, lol.) They say:

Quote
In an attempt to preserve the anticipation and mystery that fans are relishing, the trailer only shows footage from the first half of the film, chronicling events leading up to but not including the Games themselves. After giving fans their first look at all of the book’s beloved characters brought to life, giving viewers who haven’t read the book vital information about the world of Panem, the trailer ends with an electrifying cliffhanger right as Katniss enters the arena.

I liked the trailer. Very to the point without revealing too much.

It looks better than I would have thought... but still way to polished for my taste.

It didn't look terrible but it didn't look like anything special either. In this market you need to go harder than that.

Love JL though so might see it for that reason.

will there be action?

because this was 100% build up and no money shots.i dont remember the last time a studio was that dumb.

i think i will watch the movie only for the concept(kids fighting) and Jennifer. visuals look boring and i dont know if there is any action

it was good but they made the trailer for the fans only in mind

need to be smarter than that

even watchmen had a teaser in mind for the fans but still showed epic money shots and action beats to engage the casual audience

did you not read the statement by Lionsgate? They specifically said this all footage from the first half of the movie. All the action is in the second half. That is a bold move not dumb.

This felt like a futuristic amish version of Battle Royale. Thats not a bad thing but it didn't have that kick that a lot of people are saying they felt was missing.

JL and Hutcherson were the best things about this trailer. Other than that it has potential and it definitely has me interested.
