I have no problem with A list actors/actresses being in films that aren't indie/Oscar bait. They like all of us from time to time just want to chill and have fun.

And that's fine, but there are superhero movies that are worthy of their talents, and there are ones that are not, and the same applies in general.

Like I'm sure Alexander Pierce in The Winter Soldier wasn't one of the most challenging roles of Robert Redford's long career, but nor is it anything to be embarrassed about or ashamed of, it was a decent role in a very well-done movie.

Whereas on the other hand, Christopher Eccleston was completely and utterly wasted in Thor: The Dark World.

Who's to decide what's "worthy of their talents?" Us, nonsense. That's the thing, acting for them is a JOB and they don't look at it the same way that we do. Sure there's artistic merit in it sometimes. But sometimes they just want to have fun, nothing wrong with that. And the fact that some people are so freaking hung up/bothered by this makes me start to question who the "snobby" ones really are.

People want to see good actors in good movies. And when we've all seen some of our favorite actors turn down roles in films that ultimately turned out to be good, it leaves us scratching our heads when they show up in questionable projects. And while you can make the argument that actors need to pay bills, all three of these leading ladies are pretty big names and can afford to be choosy with their projects. If the film looked better, maybe we'd be a little less snobby about it, but like many have said, it just looks like a weird Frozen/LOTR mashup.

Actors are not allowed to have fun. Fanboys have to dictate what roles actors should pick and they cannot deviate from that

A few years back you never would've thought Cumberbatch would voice a character in a Penguins spinoff or play a model in Zoolander basically lampooning his own looks.

Keep in mind guys, these talents also have agents and managers working for them, and they don't work for free either. They also have considerable influence over the type of films their clients appear in.

I know everyone is angry over Fant4astic, and there is anger to be had. However, those actors getting the offers and opportunities to be in that type of film, no matter what we think, it would be bad for them to turn it down.

A lot of actors don't always have the luxury of being selective with their projects, especially if they want to work steadily.

I don't really blame any of the actors who signed up for Fantastic Four, they are up and comers not A-listers. I blame Fox for not caring about that project.

Same thing with the stars of Terminator Genisys. I know it's the cool thing to hate on Jai Courtney these days, but what is the dude supposed to do? Say no to being in a Terminator film with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Few up and coming young actors would do that.

He's an actor, he's going to take big roles that he is offered them, I hold no ill will towards him for taking the role.

I don't really hold ill will towards Blunt and Chastain for doing The Huntsman either, I'm more so sad about it. Maybe these were the best female roles that they were offered in a would-be blockbuster? I don't know, I'm working under the assumption that this wasn't the best that they could do but this is Hollywood and it's incredibly cruel to women over 32. Maybe I should go easier on them and their agents.

Something I think a lot of posters are missing as well is that there aren't a whole lot of female led movies lately, and the ones that exist are few and far between.

Oh Lord, they'll both be litmus tests. WW comes first and is the biggest name, coming out of an as of yet unproven new DCEU, Captain Marvel is the first coming from the Marvel hit-machine, the closest thing to a "sure thing" (box office-wise) female heroes are gonna get. They both have a chance of sinking or swimming and changing the way Hollywood views female leads.
