The Official Batman TAS Thread - Part 3

Yeah, and it's not really Walt Disney, just sort of inspired by. Like the bad guy from 'The Rocketeer' isn't really Errol Flynn.

Goddamn their prices, bc I love the BTAS Robin design.

I'm not the biggest Robin fan, but I have to say this figure is breathtaking. He looks so cool!

I don't do the Mondo collection, because one, the price is too high and two, you pretty much need to dedicate a whole room to display them because of their size.
But I do collect DC Collectibles line, and while I'm fully satisfied with these figures, Robin's is unfortunately the only one I find a miss: the proportions are really off (particularly around the neck) and he just looks awkward... Oh well!

Batman: The Animated Series (The Adventures of Batman & Robin) ended its run on FOX Kids on this day 30 years ago.

Time is just hurtling forward. Incidentally, this is one of my favorite episodes. I love the atmosphere and backgrounds of London and it was nice to see Alfred get some attention. Plus, Batman on a globe trotting adventure is always good value for money. They really don't make them like this anymore.

You don't really hear a lot of positive word of mouth about The Lion and the Unicorn in this fandom.

Yeah, I find this episode particularly beautiful and rich visually speaking.
There are indeed these moody English backgrounds, the streets, the castle, but also lots, lots of new secondary characters to design and animate and the storyline is action-packed, with a lava bridge, an aerial chase... I imagine that this rather unusual vibe may have shaken up the artists a little (in a good way).
A very cool and unique episode... and I love Red Claw design so much. Pure pulp villain.

it made me wish we gotten more episodes they delved into alfred's backstory.

it was a fun episode.
i love it when batman goes on these international adventures.

Cool statue... but the voice over was embarrassing. Couldn't they have simply pulled voice clips from the show?

Its fun to go back and read studio notes. I dont think i will ever forgive them for cutting the Catwoman/Black Canary episode because it didnt feature Robin. And somehow I never knew that they attempted to spinoff Catwoman into her own animated series. It wouldve been iconic.

Adrienne Barbeau is still my favorite voice for Catwoman.

Her animated spin off never got off the ground AND they cancelled a proposed B:TAS Catwoman DTV (Directed by Boyd Kirkland) after Halle Berry's film flopped.

Such a shame.

Which was your favorite Batman: The Animated Series video game ?
1. SNES The Adventures of Batman and Robin
2. Sega Genesis The Adventures of Batman & Robin
3. Sega CD The Adventures of Batman and Robin
4. PlayStation 2 Batman: Vengeance
5. PlayStation 2 Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu
