The Avengers The "I Believe In Mark Ruffalo!" Support Thread

I can't wait to see official movie screen caps of Ruffalo as Bruce!,Well any footage of course But I'm just very curious how he will look in character, will he be a bit buff or will he be scrawny like Norton was and try to look like him with his hair/body and basically act like him??

I wonder IF they'll try to explain him looking different like saying he had face reconstruction surgery or something!?

I can't really see Lou Ferrigno dubbing the Hulk's voice at this rate. It looks like it's going to be a full performance by Ruffalo. Why would he agree to having his voice dubbed anyway when it could be altered in post production but would still be him acting? Ferrigno would have to give his own performance and interpretation to the same lines. It would've been cool if he had done the motion capture and they based the Hulk's face on his. He is someone who does actually look Hulk-like, even without the green makeup.

That would just insult fans' intelligence and would sound soap opera-ish. They've never given that explanation for why Bond looks different or for why Superman looked different in SR, or why Batman looked different in his movies. They didn't even do that for War Machine in Iron Man, so why start now?

Reminder: Mark Ruffalo will be on Jimmy Kimmel tonight and Attack of the Show tommorow!

I would imagine that the Hulk will have more of a character presence in this film than in any other previous films featuring the character since I can't see them going through all the trouble to apply the AVATAR effect on Mark if the other avengers weren't required to interact with Hulk in a way more complex than previous films.

Well, they kind of did. Note Rhodey's first line in IM2: "It's me. I'm here. Deal with it." (Or something to that effect)

They'll probably have Stark just make a "Huh, could have sworn he looked different" quip or something like that.

Just saw Mark Ruffalo on JImmy Kimmel. He looks pretty thin and he explained that Hulk is like the guy that nobody is sure they want on their team. He said he is a loose cannon. He used an analogy saying its like throwing a live grenade in the middle of the room and hoping it turns out well

While a subtle nod to the fans, it could easily have been read as just a passing comment made by Rhodes within the movie universe. If Terrence Howard were still Rhodey he could easily have spoken that, and it would have had no meaning. It's not like they made a big song and dance about Rhodey's new appearance.

Using plastic surgery as a device is making a big deal about it and can only be taken one way. Saying something like "this is me, i'm here, deal with it" can be taken in more than one way and won't even necessarily draw attention to itself.

Please, no Hulk in a dress!

I wonder if Ruffalo will have that beard and haircut in the movie, and whether we'll finally see a hairy Hulk.

They already said hulk would be hairy. But I expect ruffalo to shave and comb his hair.

hey is there a picture out there where ruffalo looks angry...at least a bit? the only one i've found is not very helpful:-(

Jack Kirby drew a hairy Hulk. Who am I to argue with the King?

Yeah, in about five minutes or so, I got it on now.
