Same here, except he's my favourite. IMO Marvel seem to be excluding him alot at the minute, barely mentioning him when they talk about The Avengers. Yes, I know TIH didn't perform as well as they expected but alot of that was Marvel's own fault, not the character's.
I feel like the Hulk is the most integral part to the Avengers unifying, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a fan.
He was the catalyst for the Avengers to assemble originally, and he served basically the same purpose in the Ultimates. Logically, especially with Loki being such a great character in Thor and assuming he's one of the main villains going forward, I don't see any other way the group would form that makes sense. They have to stop the strongest one there is, and then bring him into the fold.
I actually think they should only have two big Hulk set pieces though, I want them to really nail the cgi this time, and I think if you have a big battle where they have to stop his rampage near the beginning, then have him redeem himself and show up to help at the end, you achieve the arc for the character, without a huge amount of screen time. They can focus on getting the f/x right for just a couple of big scenes, rather than a full film, and let's face it, Marvel's going to be tight within their budget as it is...
I think he SHOULD NOT resemble Banner.
He *never* has in the comic.
Before the world knew that Banner was the Hulk, NEVER did anyone look at the Hulk and say, "You know what...he kinda looks like that guy Dr. Bruce Banner! Do you see a resemblance? I do!"
No one ever looked at Banner and said, "Hey, has anyone ever told you that you look like the incredible Hulk?"
So....why make him resemble Banner in the movie? It's just a waste of time and budget and is not only unnecessary, but it is diametrically opposed to 50 years of published material. Instead, use that time and money to make the Hulk look even more realistic than he did in T.I.H.
I disagree with that, the greatest Hulk artist of all time IMO, always drew a slight resemblance between the two.
It's not like Hulk has his own separate skeleton and bone structure, it's a mutation. They don't have to be twins, but part of what could make the Hulk as realistic as possible is his resemblance to Banner. The best scenes, F/X-wise, in Ang's Hulk trump the best scenes in TIH simply for that reason.
Besides this:
Isn't so far from this:
No disrespect to Mark, of course
