The "I loved Spider-Man 3" Thread!

"rings true" lol

I wasn't surprised to see Peter behaving like a nerd with confidence. Let's face it, Peter Parker isn't cool. He's only cool when he dons the suit.

Seriously, I don't know what people expected. The symbiote only enhances your feelings of rage and agression. It doesn't completely change your attitude/personality.

i liked it alot it was very emotional and well domne i liked the story and all of the new characters but the action with venom seemed alittle rushed at the end i though he could have hd more screentime ...and the ending was mabye not what it should have been

Peter is a nerd. Peter isn't cool.

But no one would do that. It was for cheap laughs and mostly done for children.

Now don't get me wrong I still liked the movie but I think that is one of the very few big problems. There were a few things I would of liked to have seen cut so one of the biggest bad guys in Spiderman could of gotten a little respect.

I loved Spiderman 1 I didn't much care for number 2 but I liked number 3.

#1 - 9
#2 - 7.5
#3 - 8

i liked the dance scen it was laugh outloud for me cuz tobey played it so well and he is SUCH A DORK!!!

I just went to see this again and was blown away. The first time I saw this movie I loved it and thought it was the best of the trilogy. This time though when I went to see it instead of going to see spider-man and his fight with some amazing villains I went for the themes of the movie (revenge, forgiveness, redemption) and this really made this movie ten times better for me. These themes are so strong in this movie and the way things play out are amazing. I also went in with the mind set that the black suit was a metaphor for substance abuse. This made things even better to me as well and imo made venoms role in this movie that much more memorable. Next time you guys see it you should go watch it for these themes and I hope you leave as amazed as I was.

The mise-en-scene and attention to detail is also wonderfully done...

I'm surprised I haven't heard anyone mention the composition of the scene between Peter and May in the apartment.

Peter is still in the dark, away from the light. And May is the light guiding the way as his moral compass.

I hear a lot of people saying that when spidey gets the black suit he is supposed to be a badass and they were dissapointed with him. I thought it was perfect and very funny because Peter is a dork and he thinks he is bad but really he is just making a fool of himself! I liked what they did with it and was hoping that Pete would have stayed like that a little longer! :woot:

Spiderman 3 is excellent. Its the weakest film in the trilogy individually, but has many of the best scenes overall and concludes the series in a powerful and slightly sexy maner.

Its basicly the ROTJ of the Spiderman movies. It has problems the other two didnt, but still delivers a qaulity product. And I'm pretty sure I saw an Ewok in the subway.

are you saying this cuz you went for the action the first time and were dissapointed?? i was dissapointed in the lack of venom but now thinking more of the character and less of the comic book icon i am more satisfied i suppose but i would have to watch it all over again withthis in mind

I felt that the way Peter acted in the movie, though funny, made the audience view the symbiote as a joke. It was funny one scene and then deadly the next.It seemed that the Symbiote was played as a joke in the movie. It made Peter a crazy ladies man with a taste for fine black suits, but turned Brock into a monster...literally. It made the audience wonder, "Okay, so is this symbiote thing a risk or what?" I'm not saying I didn't like the movie, because I loved it, but when Peter was all mean, especially the "I'll give you the rent when you fix this DAMN DOOR!" line, that's how he shoulda been: crabby, rude, and angry. But either way i enjoyed it.

The symbiote brings out the worst in people. It brought out the revenge from Eddie to the extreme and Peter's sense of being at the top of the world- you could see his arrogance at Spider-Man Day. Thus, the symbiote in the film feeds off of the worst of people.

I actually teared up when Peter came back at Act III in full red and blue, and when Harry came in and saved his life.

Seriously, how can something that seemed so out of place the first time seeing it, end up beeing so ****ING COOL and FUNNY when seeing it the 2'nd time!!!!
That whole montage with the walking down the street -and everything in between- would've been such a crime NOT to include in the movie! It's pure GOLD!!! I'm down on my knees laughing when he comes out of the store in his new suit in the end, and he does those crazy dance-moves, before walking out of frame! Dont remember?? Tjeck it out at the link below! Tobey brings it full throttle!!!;):)

I couldn't disagree more I think it was a crime to put it in the movie. The entire walking down the street dancing scene and coming out of the store scene were a waste and took away from the story. It was out of place and was a waste of time that could of been spent on other things. This is my second biggest problem with the film. I really only have 3 problems with this film. It could of easily been the best but instead for me it is only the second best but still good.

^ I knew someone would come out of the bush and state that eventually... For me, it lifted the movie in an instant! It was so hilarious! For many spidey fans, it was propably weird, and many hated the fact that they seemed to make a total joke out of the whole symbiote story! But when I saw it (all 4 times!) the whole theater of 1100 people were laughing so hard that it was hard to hear the music playing in that sequence!

ps. That montage doesn't bother me, it makes for some glorious moments of pure laughter... The Peter playing piano and dancing Tango in the jazz-club was a little over the top though.

I am not denying that it was funny, but just because it was funny doesn't mean it wasn't out of place or that it took away from the story. I laughed when they did it in the movie as well but less than a minute after it was over I felt almost disgusted at the scene.

How so? That scene was not only funny, but served purpose in showing how the symbiote works. It brought out a lot of Peter's arrogance which we see during the first part of the film. At first he's just arrogant but once he has the symbiote, he thinks he's the ****. I think that was a great scene and it would've been stupid to cut it. A big part of the movie is his personality changing drastically because of the symbiote and him doing things he wouldn't normally do.

^ In a way, I wish I could say the same... but heck, I'd be lying! I can't deny it, I freaken love that sequence! It truely makes me wanna go out on the town, dancing all night.:)

Yeah. I don't understand the whole "cheesy/ embarressing" aspects... sure, it looks cheesy- but it also looks fun... just letting go and being free. I want a symbiote!

You just proved the point it looks cheesy and looks like fun. The symbiote isn't suppose to look cheesy or look like fun. It's bad. It createst aggression
