Not if you were actually expecting a high quality movie for over two years. It was entertaining and thats all that matters.

Define "high quality."Not if you were actually expecting a high quality movie for over two years.
Well, first off a high quality movie should have a good script, something Spider-Man 3 was lacking. With all it's cope outs, coincidences, cringe-worthy dialogue, and absurd dance scenes, I wouldn't consider SM3 high quality.Define "high quality."
Because I'm having a hard time finding movies with more quality than SM3.

In judging this movie alone, on its own merits, I'm was trying to decide if carry over character development from the first two films was influencing me. Then I realized, what does that matter? If you ran all three films together in to one long seven hour movie, you'd have the greatest epic adventure ever made.
Still, SM3 itself was fleshed out and advanced where it matters. The three leads are fully developed and perfectly advanced. The supporting characters are wonderfully utilized, some given more to do. The villains were slighted but it all works. You understand the motivation behind both villain's actions. That's all that matters to the story. Overall, I enjoyed every minute of this movie.
Whats really remarkable is that Raimi manages to play both sides of the fence. He offers tremendous wild action for those not smart enough to follow the intricate character motivation and development thats been unfolding for three films. He also allows the viewer to pick up the little nuances and enjoy this movie on another level. Knowing that you cant please everybody, Raimi made the film on his advanced level. If you can follow along and appreciate the movie on his level then, great. If not, tough luck. Just enjoy the action and leave the complexities to people who arent interested in nitpicking the flaws that appear only in their own mind. For the rest of us, this movie is a real treat. Thumbs Up!
I thought SM3 was a major disappointment for me when I saw it at the midnight showing. But, I just got home from my second viewing...loved it. The dance sequence isn't as bad, nor as long, as I remembered it. Sandman was portrayed beautifully, despite his seemingly rushed departure. Venom was great too and served his purpose. Also, all the parts that I thought had made me cringe, actually turned out to be my favorite parts of the film.
Kudos to Raimi and crew!
)Disagreed. Sorry, but I just hated the dance scene. The dance scenes are nothing short of brilliant. Peter's spiteful dance with Gwen was one of the better scenes in the film.
80% of the time the dialogue was on par with the first two films imo. But the other 20% of the lines uttered I cringed at. The jazz club scene contains a chunk of it.The dialogue is perfect and certainly kept in line with the first two films. I can't think of one real cop out but I have to agree about the coincidences.
True, but many of the coincidences in the film aren't found in the comic-book and when they are used in the movie they should be made to be less noticeable. In this one, the added coincidences were just too obvious imo.Still, the Spider-Man comic itself is filled with extreme coincidences throughout the years.

Good "dialogue "makes you cringe ?Well, first off a high quality movie should have a good script, something Spider-Man 3 was lacking. With all it's cope outs, coincidences, cringe-worthy dialogue, and absurd dance scenes, I wouldn't consider SM3 high quality.
I liked the dancing in the jazz club ish. I only hated one dance thing and it was the ******ed "im a mean guy now and mean guys dance on the street and act all cheesy."
It really, truly was.I actually felt bad for Sandman when He was trying to form for the first time in that pit... very touching scene.
Actually, it slipped through his hand...but tomato, tomahto.^ i agree, especially when he fell and when he was trying to pick up the necklace
People have been nitpicking the Spiderman franchise for years....when the first movie came out everyone was bashing it cause of the organic web shooters....and then in the second one...people were bashing it cause there was less action and more drama...and Doc Ock was more misunderstood than evil......so no matter what...people will complain. For me.....I do agree all the movies aren't perfect...but they're all really fun movies. That's why they're released in the summer. Spiderman movies are summer popcorn movies....and that's what you should go in expecting. I loved it..and I thought part 3 was the most fun of the films
To me, that's exactly what a nerd unleashed would act like. He knows little about women, relationships and, even though he's Spider-Man, grew up with no confidence and limited self esteem. It would've been wrong to portray him in any other way. It works both ways. It's funny but it also rings true. Watch the faces on the women around him as he struts, it's hilarious.
