The "I loved Spider-Man 3" Thread!

Um... dude, the Punisher was more or less 'adapted'/'inspired' by the Garth Ennis comics... great film, I love it as well, but I don't think it strayed that much. Maybe from the first Punisher comics days, but it's definitely Garth Ennis inspired.

It strayed pretty far from the actual comics which usually pisses a lot of people off. I prefer it to stray it shows creativity and gives us something fresh instead of the exact same story that we have already read probably multiple times.

? How did it stray though, really?

Other than a couple of differences here and there:

1. Miami replaces New York City.

2. His whole family gets killed rather than his family gets killed.

Seemed like a great Garth Ennis adaptation to me, unless you're talking about the earlier Punisher comics? Because the tone, at least for me, was exactly Garth Ennis' take on the Punisher.

Just wanna say I loved the movie. Very weak plot, terrible villain transformations, cringe-worthy moments involving certain plot devices.. But the characters moments, especially Peter and Mj, reddem this movie. The final battle too. It's just wonderful, not only the action in it, but it makes you feel and root for the heroes. I love this movie.

I despise Spidey 2, but I seriously love this one. As well as its score.

Just saw the movie tonight and while it was not perfect and there were a good few cheesy bits that I found distracting I'm veering more towards loving the movie. I'd give it an 8/10.

I particularly liked the comedy in the movie, the bit where Betty keeps interrupting J. Jonah on the intercom and Bruce Cambells cameo was really funny. I also actually liked the cocky Peter Parker strutting down the street and the bit where he does the dance after getting his fancy suit. The following sequence in the Jazz club is awful though!

The action in general was great, I really liked the Harry vs. Peter no holds bar fight in the mansion as well as the big tag team fight at the end. The emotion was at times a bit off but at the end where Sandman explains his story to Spider-Man and where MJ and Peter comfort a dying Harry is very powerful. I also liked Sandman's story and his "birth" is a lovely and emotional scene to watch.

Overall SM3 was imo an enjoyable movie, perhaps a bit too long and not as good as SM2 but still a good addition to the franchise.

Im going to see this again on saturday with my sister. She hated the second spider-man and I had to offer to pay her way before she would even consider going to see this. I know I will enjoy it yet again but I have doubts as to whether or not she will like it.
Well saturday we ended up going to the movies and my plan was a great success. My sister loved this movie. She thought james franco was the best part of the movie. She cringed a bit during the dance scenes but it didnt really hinder the movie for her. She loved the first spider-man and despised the second and now she thinks 3 is the best one. That is really what I call great success.

I love the Theatrical cut of Spider-Man 3. The extended would probably be on level with Spidey 2, but i really don't get why everyone is so angry with Sam or Spidey 3 as a whole.

Had i thought a great balance of comedy (in which i loved, i loved the dance number, it had both theaters i saw it with, rolling.) and the meaty, dramatic type stuff with Sandman/family and Harry/Peter, Peter/MJ. the Crying never bothered me, cause Pete is not a macho Wayne type hero, he still a student in college, still vulnerable to emotion of his g/f breaking up with him and dumping him for a new guy.

I don’t think it is better then Spidey 2, but defiantly had a great time watching it and think it is better then Spidey 1. So i think people need to forget hating on this movie, just cause they saw that the first two where so well done, they where looking for something to attack and well some have.

I loved it, and really that is all that matters to me.

I loved it, absolutely loved it!

It was just as good as the first two films (which I rated 10 out of 10 stars!)!

I didn't think it was too long, didn't think it was confusing, and didn't think it was corney or cheesey at all.

It was just perfect!

I have seen the movie twice so far and be planning on seeing it 2 more times june 1. this movie was absoloutley Amazing and is defenitley better than the first two!. Everything in the film was grat, Venom, Harry/New Goblin, Sandman, Peter, MJ, I love it all!:spidey:.

Seen it five times, so that should tell you i loved it

it seemed that in Spiderman 2 theyweredropping hints that Aunt May knows, or suspects that Peter is Spiderman, the whole speech about there is a hero in all of us seemed to indicate this. how ever they seemed to phase out Aunt May in 3 and didn'treally continue this part of the story, the perfect opportunity would have been when Peter told Aunt May that Spiderman had killed Marco.Instead the repsonse of just spidermandoesn;t kill people was lame.

After hearing bad reviews from people, but when i finally saw the film myself..i thought it was good.Great if i were to really think about it.

I thought when she was giving that speech in 3 it was pretty obvious that she continues to know that Peter is Spider-man. Not to mention, Peter's demeanor when he brought that information to her was extremely conspicuous, like the doctor scene in 2.

I was overly dissapointed the first time I saw this movie. But I have seen it twice since then, and now actually really like it. Flaws and all, and there are some serious flaws.

And I just want to say, that the street strutting scene is awesome.....the Jazz club dance, not so much.

I loved the movie and it was entertaining enough for me to check it out twice. I really wish Venom hadn't died though.....if he really did. :sym:

In my younger brother's high school, the Venom fan boy cult is so strong that he said people were going around before the movie declaring with a straight face, "Spider-Man's going to die in this one because Venom is going to kill him". These same people came back the following weekend angry and pissed that Venom died.

That explains why the 13-17 yr. old crowd didn't like this movie. That and there was too much romance. Even though, Spider-Man 2 had a greater focus on the love angle so I don't get what their complaint is.

In any case, this was the best of the three for me and I loved all the Spider-Man flicks.

^I don't know what high school your brother goes to but anyone that has a Venom cult can't be a good one. Sounds like Stan Lee High. The Parker/science nerds sit at this place in the cafeteria, the Gwen/hot chics sit there, the MJ/home town girls sit over there, and then there is teh Venom/skate boarders that sit there. GET HIM OUT OF THERE!

I met some new ppl today at a friends party, I love how the stupid emo response get's thrown around so ignoranantly.

In response according to this one kid even the way he (spider-man) dressed was emo :whatever:

I don't think i'm the smartest S#!t around but dam some ppl out there are just incredibly stupid and somehow think going with the crowds must make them right.

I don't know what more ppl expected this time around but seriously some grudges were held too far.

I was very satisfied with the movie! Although the whole Jazz club scene seemed unneccessary and some scenes were a bit cheesy, it was a great sequel!
I think it's definiately better than the first, number two is a bit better but then it didn't have to many storylines to handle and only one major villain...

But there are so many scenes I think are much better than number 2...
The whole finishing scene where Sandman gives his confession is the most touching scene in the whole franchise! Thomas really shows his acting skills! THe last scene with Harry was also very well done...

All the action scenes were great, and Venom was fantastic!
Although I think his presence was a bit limited I think it still was enough...

Overall I think the movie was a great sequel and makes Spidey the best superherotrilogy yet!:woot:

Well, the Thomas Jane Punisher was cheesy in parts of course, but it was better than Dolph Lundgren's Punisher.

Tis a dangerous land, worse yet is the Wolverine high school across the street. :ninja:

*Shudder

I liked SM3 but, I thought it could have been much better. I wouldn't be surprised if Avi Arad is responsible for preventing this film from being epic. In fact I'm tired of him being involved with the production of these Marvel comic movies. In the past ten years how many good Marvel films did Avi help produce because I can think of at least eight movies that he screwed up. Blade II, Blade III, Daredevil, Elektra, X-Men 3, The Punisher, Fantastic Four, and Ghost Rider all sucked.

Any kid going into a Spider-Man movie thinking that Spidey is going to die...just....i really just don't know what you can say about that type of idiocy.

The more i watch the movie the more i like it....

I've seen it 4 times by now and i've watched SP1 and SP2 the other day just to compare them....i'm shocked i will say this but i agree with MR.7000,they are not as good as i remembered them especially the first one...the more i watch SP3 the more the acting impresses me,the action is awe inspiring(unlike the first when there is little action to be found)the theme is much more deep,it' complex and very emotional....it's funnier than the first two by a mile which is something that is missing in the prequels...

Now of course it's not perfect so here's the three things i would add/change

1.The idea with the reporter in Battle Royale was great, but the actress...terrible.

2.The scene where Pete looks at the miror and Venom appears should've made the movie...you know,so the audience can expect Venom (the people who didnt watch the trailers) so he woudnt come from nowhere...

3. It would have been great if at Battle Royale Sandman stopped fighting after he sees his daugther ..it would've been more emotional and logical..

But either way i LOVED the movie,by far the best of the three in almost any way.

I agree , i love this movie so much and i seriously think it is the best of all 3 too. idk why so many peeps think it's one of the worst superhero films. i don't get it, i think it is the best superhero trilogy ever.
