I loved this issue. Seeing Hobie break his neck was very raw and unexpected. And Night-Watch got blown away too. Joe Bennet's artwork was gorgeous in this too.

Why does Doc Ock look jacked here instead of his usual tubby self? Never read this. Can't say I have a burning desire to. Doesn't really jump out from all the other Doc Ock stories. Can't be better than the awesome Doc Ock story in ASM annual #15 or I would have heard about it by now.

This character Nocturne was.... terrible. A product of the overly politically correct early 90's. Her multi-cultural origin sounded like it was cooked up in a boardroom by marketers or PR men. IIRC she was part black, part Cuban, part Native American and all blind. I mean, I understand appealing to other demographics, but really?? I could have forgiven this, but she was so dull it made me want to throw my comic in the trash before I even got home. It seems like her creators gave her a bit of everything, except a personality.

Aloha,
So tell us how you really feel. :yay:Actually, I agree with you completely.

I hate it when reprints remove some pages, it removes something good from the story

Love this story, but I wish Peter didn't forgive those 3 until they were forced by him to help fix his apartment

Wonder what Mammie would say now if she knew how nice Peter's salary is these days, would she welcome him?

This has always been my favorite Terry Dodson cover, tbh. I wish I had a poster of this image, and the issue is great as well.

Only 11 days left? Now I really wish that "SM4 is actually happening". We prob will saw trailer, plot, poster, everyone in the world is hyping for this movie, news, mag, and everything. Man, I would go straight to the theater to set up my tent on the parking lot like right now.

I loved this 12 issue storyline. It was epic and full of tension and twists. I'll never understand the hate some people had for it.

This was a great storyline too. It's the one where Chameleon dived off the Brooklyn bridge and then Pete had some strange dreams after. I think it landed Jenkins his ongoing gig on 'Peter Parker'. This storyline really stood out, because the core-books were such crap at the time.

I think the "battle" between Doc Ock & the Green Goblin, arguably 2 of Spider-Man's greatest enemies, fell flat and left people unsatisfied...

That's a fair enough point. I thought the climax felt a bit rushed myself.

But what I'm talking about are those who hated it from the beginning. I think a lot of them never gave the storyline a fair go because of preconceived feelings they already had for Mark Millar.

Some scenes like Pete in the hospital, the cafe meeting with Scorpion and the fight with the new Venom at his high-school reunion were just awesome moments. Plus the artwork was just eye-droppingly beautiful.
