Neither do I. It's a take on a legacy character, and it's heist movie. It's something we haven't seen in a superhero movie, and it might even be pretty goddamn hilarious like GotG. But where as it's fine for GotG to have hilarity, Ant-Man gets condemned for it? That's whack, yo.

It comes from both sides. The hardcore comics fans think Ant Man is on par with Batman, and should receive some huge, dark and serious epic-budget treatment by Chris Nolan. The movie-only fans think all superheroes have to be badass and loaded for bear like Iron Man, so someone with an alternative power set, that's lame and no good.

Ant-Man as a concept has always gotten flack, both in the fan community and in the wider world (anyone remember Garret Morris as A-M in an SNL sketch?) in a way similar to AQUAMAN. Sure, there are some real comic fan devotees for both but even so, lots of comic fans have an opposite those two.

I like that the film seems to from the trailer not shy away from just about everything inherent in the concept. Yes, the idea is rife with comic possibilities, no doubt, and that should be part of the deal, and when you cast Paul Rudd you capitalize on his world class comedic abilities. But the idea, the concept of A-M's powers at first seem less sexy compared to some other heroes, once you start to think about it, those poewer sets lend themselves to some very interesting and different stories and can be quite impressive especially visually. I am really glad that the trailer also indicates that they aren't going to just gloss over the insect controlling powers either. Again, a power that on the face might seem lame but can be exploited in any number of interesting ways.

My only fear is that this won't blow up ala GOTG, simply because I think it's advertising got lost in the build up to AOU. On the other hand, a hit like AOU is going to be will only help in the long run. They can transfer some of that buzz to Ant-Man once AOU has been in theaters for awhile perhaps. For sure I think this trailer is a very strong step in the right direction of getting the film into the pop culture consciousness.
