I didn't see any threads on this, unless they're incorporated in other thread conversations.

So here it goes... I never understood how the Hulk defeated the Abomination after that long choke hold. It's apparent that "Bomy" is far stronger than the Hulk, but yet in the end, he appeared to be completely incapacitated and exhausted. Given, most people need a moment to regain their senses after a confrontation like that, but for him to just lay there while the Hulk kicked his limp body around a couple of times and do a "King Kong" move by putting his foot on Bomy's chest and yell... It just didn't seem realistic for it to end just like that.

I was expecting Bomy to get up and continue to fight, or at least show some sign of struggle to get up. But even when you really think about it and all the possibilities on how it could end - how could it just fizzle out like that? Let's not forget about the fact that the Army has no possible was to keep Bomy in custody...

Were you fine with the way the movie ended, or would you have preferred a more finite conclusion on destroying the Abomination?

I feel the entire end fight scene was kinda badly done.

I feel the hulk was misrepresented and should have beat abomination down rather than strangling him.

saying this though, if they left it like this on purpose so they could have a proper definitive match in a sequel or an avenger's film, then I don't mind

The way i view it, you generally chock or get a bigger and stronger person than you to submit.

Ultimately it opens doors for rematch with is all good and dandy because now they have a history and history is good in a confrontation. This opens up doors for a future fight to go places...

i thought it was nice and brutal, but hulk was getting his butt whipped

Actually...by Marvel standards...a very brutal and realistic fight between these 2 Gamma Godz. Here are the Stats and Facts:
1) Abom was 2 times stronger than Hulk originally
2) He keeps his intelligence(or lack of) and memories
3) Supposed to be 200lbs less than Hulk
4) Does not get stronger madder he gets
5) Rejuvenates slower than Hulk (hence the beatdown)
6) More susceptible to mind probes
7) Cannnot change back to human Blonsky
8) Not as ferocious and brutal as Hulk
9) Cannot jump as far and as fast as Hulk
10) Originally a Russian spy-so likes to use stealth

I too felt like it was 'oh, so he just gets tired?' - what did they do afterwards, handcuff him?

Only problem with that list is that it isn't accurate for the movie counterparts, for starters Abomb in the movie was a fair bit bigger than hulk.

On the subject of why he just flaked out, well you have to consider had hulk not stopped at the point where he did Abomb would be dead, he was likely very close to death as it was. It was that he was choked half to death, that takes alot out of you, no matter how stronger you are, he probably wasn't even fully conscious.

I also didn't understand why 1/2 of Bomy's screen time was spent running.

The other thing that left me scratching my head was why Ross would go through the trouble of making Blonsky his super soldier to stop the Hulk, but in the end, used the Hulk to stop Blonsky. Ross apparently didn't care about innocent human casualties all this time of chasing the Hulk, so why would he care about Bomy tossing a few cars in a public area...

My two issues with this fight:

The most powerful superhero in the universe choking out one of the most powerful villians in the universe together can't snap a steel chain? Neither the force of Hulk pulling nor the force of Abom resisting snapped the chain?

In addition, it's become apparent that Hulk can lifts mountains and such, but while smashing the rooftop of an old New York building with everything he has the building isn't demolished....but he did manage to crack the roof (which covers a hollow floor underneath).

I'm very happy that he did not kill ABOM. Thats one of the thing I hated with spiderman 3. Why did they kill the most favored villain in the spiderman world. That closed all doors to a rematch. I'm hoping that they some how bring back venom in future incarnations. I'm sure a Venom and Spiderman vs a Carnage will make for a kickass film.

In the same way. I would have hated to see that the very first chapter of hopefully a franchise that you kill the only Villain that can really hurt the Hulk. I think it may have made the sequels kind of weak since other villains won't pose much of a threat. So I'm looking forward to a rematch. Even on a larger scale if possible.

They weren't fighting ontop of a building, it was the ground floor, Hulk hit solid ground.

The whole scene is fantastic until after Hulk has beaten down Abo with the car gloves. Then it just goes to ****. The lame kick he gives Hulk is very confusing, then suddenly he's up and running again?

Then the lame hanging on chopper etc, just ****ing boring and a waste of what could have been a great fight.

I was really dissapointed because in the script that I had read that scene lasts for at least 5 minutes longer and had alot more beating down and environmental interaction. For example the Abom tosses hulk into a circuit city and they go at it, Eventually abom takes the belt off of an escalator and starts thrashing the hulk with it. With all the talk of a 20 minute long fight scene I guess I got my hopes up that everything would be there.

Exactly and I had already seen the gloves scene online so I was hoping it was merely the tip of the iceberg, but it was the best part. I was really hoping they were gonna trade off at least 3 to 4 times as many blows as that, tossing each other through building and crushing each other with vehicles and what not. Well heres to hoping for a sequel and ILM or Weta doing the cg. I was just hoping for something rivaling transformers.

I too felt like it was 'oh, so he just gets tired?' - what did they do afterwards, handcuff him?

Yea no **** after twenty minutes of getting his wits about him he would stand up and just start all over again, ****ing retarted.

After reading early reviews which were really praising the final fight,I think I let my expectations get too high.

Upon first view,I felt a big "that's it?".It was a solid fight, but I was expecting much more destruction.

But after seeing the movie 2 more times,I'm pretty happy with it.It flows nicely, isn't too stretched out and has a nice brutal ending.

Non comic readers I know who saw the flick were pretty blown away with the final fight.

I'll say it again, he was choked half to death, couldn't get any air, when that happens you're mind will drop unconscious, Abomb was just grasping onto his life, he most likely wasn't fully conscious, hence the reason why he didn't just get up and start the fight again.

The other thing I think that would have been really badass is if they played off the revised movie Abomination's bony exterior. For example, if Abom used his spinal daggers to inflict harm on the Hulk. I mean after all, if they're going to redesign him to this extent, they might as well use it. Guess someone wasn't thinking about that possibility... But at least he used his elbow spur.

I just saw the movie. Thought it was really great.

The final battle felt long...though they left it open for a possible ABOM vs Hulk rematch. To me...it makes sense. Since ABOM wasn't killed in the end battle with Hulk, in a later sequel the two of em could confront each other for another match, which would then make things between them a lot more interesting and with the past that they had in TIH, it'll create tension - and it'll probably be personal to them both.

I gathered that The Abomination, once bested by The Hulk, was tired, yes, but he just seemed to give up there, knowing he'd met his master. That's how the scene is played, with Hulk standing over him, etc.

The only problem with having a rematch is that you'd have to show the Abomination more in the sequel, which means more money for Marvel to generate both cgi characters. If they can do it with Golem in ROTK, then I guess it can be pulled off in a sequel - so long as he doesn't cause any destruction to his environment, which would increase spending.

If they bring in The Leader, it would be a lot easier to put a cranial prosthetic on the actor, which could cut cgi costs, and allow for them to do more with Abomination. Maybe even pair them off against the Hulk in the sequel...

I honestly thought the other two Hulk set-pieces (the soda factory and the college campus) were much more memorable and awe-inspiring.

But this made sense and I liked how it ended. Abomination was depicted as more vicious (killing people left and right) and stronger than Hulk. So, Hulk outsmarted him and strangled his ass with a giant chain. He cut off enough air to Blonsky's brain that he passed out. He could've killed Blonsky but Betty stopped him from going too far (right...like Hulk hadn't killed a half dozen people earlier in the movie).

It worked and I was not disasppointed by it. Honestly how Iron Man beat Stane was far more unsatisfying (but a small miss of an otherwise perfect superhero movie).

My bigger questions about the end fight are:

1) Abomination won't be unconscious long...so how will the military restrain that monster in probably no more than half an hour, much less move his hulking ass?

2) If Hulk can't super jump in the new franchise, how did he escape the military in New York muthafudgin city?

You make it quite clear...and I agree with you... at least on this movie. :)

Still think Hulk became stronger once his eyes flared up. Love the fight.
