Something to remember is that many trailers have to be approved months in advance. If they're working to the last minute on this and Leterrier knows how fans will be scrutinizing every frame, this may just be what the CGI looked like when it was approved.

That's not to say the changes will be massive, but it's something to think about.
maybe. i think its awsome even if the cgi unfinished.:woot:
i love your signature, most people on these boards should go by that philosophy:word:

I think the abomination has tattoos.

He does, though is the one shot we can see them they seem to be on his other arm from when he is human? (they likely just flipped the shot for the trailers though)

I wished the poll above was a closed poll so we can see who exactly is voting what.

It's not finished yet, bro.

I can't let it go... sometimes this CGI just crawls under your skin and gives you those itches that you can't scratch out... SM3 was iffy... but they obviously had the budget.... with something as ambitious as the Hulk... its SO difficult I get that... even Jackson's Kong wasn't perfect... but this is one of those things that pales in comparison... they aren't paying attention to the details... that's what's killing me.

I haven't even commented on the transformation yet! But damn- does it look mad painful! When his skeletal frame started to enlarge, and his bones were all poppin' out of socket- awww man! Now that puts the capital "M" in metamorphosis like never before! I've been watching this trailer like crazy, and i keep seeing more and more nods to the '70's show: during the first transformation the camera pans to his feet breaking out of boots as his hand grows. Not to mention the duffle bag. I'm thinking that each transformation scene will be different, like the tv show, but similar. I just hope that it will have that ONE defining transformation scene, like in the first movie- which had two for me: the fight scene with Talbot, and his change in the water tank.

Trailer looked great!
I do have to say that one of the most encouraging things that wasn't very present in the previous trailer is how terrific Roth's Blonsky looks like he will be.

Can we just get off bashing the CGI for a moment, and comment on how GOOD the trailer was overall? There will NEVER be perfect CGI, we need to get over it, and APPRECIATE the hard work these guys have been putting forth into making this film for US. Watch the trailer a couple of times, and i'm postive that the CGI will no longer be an issue. You MIGHT start to realize that this movie will be just as good as all the other upcoming summer block-busters! So in closing, i leave with these words from Mike Epps: "Don't HATE. APPRECIATE." It'll make a hellava difference!

First off -- think this is my first post. LOVE the trailer! I gave it a 10, and I'll be the first one in my city lined up to see it. I am originally a fan of the tv show, but I have nothing against the original comic book versions of Hulk. I'm mostly in it for the transformations ;) which, btw... OMG?! how wicked awesome and painful did that look?!

Now, onto something I noticed. I realize this is just a trailer and so it's not honestly sequential, but I noticed in the bridge scene that Banner is wearing a button-down jean (?) shirt over a white t-shirt. Notice in the next shot with his hands on the glass he has just the white t-shirt on. Did he take the other shirt off? Is this really just another shot from a different scene? Is it a mistake?

Well, it's nothing big really. Just something I noticed. Wondered if anyone noticed and thought it odd as I did. Again, like I said -- I realize trailers are not sequential! I'm not a complete idiot! It's probably just my mind making something from nothing.

There's a transformations in a bottle plant, where he changes in the shadows but you catch a glimpse of his eyes...another nod to the tv show. All we need now is that eerie sound during the change.

The trailer was very good, I gave it at 10 overall. I liked the first Hulk movie actually, however I believe this movie will blow it out of the water.

I didn't like the first trailer too much, I don't know why for some reason. This trailer however really gets me excited, and I'll definitely be one of the first in line for this movie when it comes out.

I think the abomination has tattoos.

He does! I didn't peep that out until you mentioned it. Another thing i noticed too, was the Hulk does look like Norton. During the college scenes with the Hulk going up against Ross and his military goons, you can definitely see a resemblance to his alter-ego. The more i watch the trailer, the more excited i get!

He takes it off and covers his mouth with it so he won't breathe in the gas.

That's all i ask for.

If ILM did what it did for 2003's Hulk, which was 5 years ago, just imagine what they could have done today. I know Rhyme & Hue isn't up there with ILM, but they could have at least matched 'dated' 5 year old effects; smaller company or not.

This Hulk is so much more detailed, down to all of the minute wrinkles on his face and the incredible musculature. I don't see how anyone can say 03 looked better. The only thing I liked better about that version was the actual green tint of his skin instead of the kind of off green tone of this one. This movie looks awesome to me!

the problem in my honest opinion is two things

one, just like that final shot in the iron man trailer(i don't think they fixed it yet) unless you achieve a wide spectrum of contrast, cgi can be modeled as hot as you want it to be, it can move fluid as hell(mo-cap even), but it will never pop and therefore never really come to life

beyond the difference in difficulty between modeling robots and carbon based creatures (which really doesn't matter here cause the hulk model works fine)
here is an example of contrast bringing cg to life(mind the size)

deep darks and bright whites define depth, forget the blending and washing into the environment ala overcast scenes...

secondly
rhythm & hues

they do great motion and modeling i personally think that's their strength, but when it comes to final rendering, all their stuff looks fake and suffers for it
from Superman Returns, to Narnia, to golden compass, to the x movies to night at the museum...
amazing movement, especially with the animals, but always rubbery looking

ILM on the other hand has been producing the better renders ala Transformers/Davy jones/Jurassic park/ Ironman / Harry potter

that's what i think anyway.

that one shot someone posted above with the hulk punching down towards the camera works great, no doubt because it's full of lots of whites and blacks unlike...

hulk.jpg

bumped the contrast a bit, it's not the proper way to do it but it's a start.

ILM recent green skin work

I'd agree with this in regards the daylight shots - the main thing making them seem a little off is a contrast issue (though in some screenshots the contrast seems different - and better- to what I'm seeing in the Quicktime files?)

Anyways, I took a stab at playing with the levels & contrast to see if there was a way to get a better 'pop' from that daylight shot:

It might just be my ageing screen (or my ageing eyes) but I think these fiddled with levels do give the daylight model just a little more pop or substance (the night model seems just fine to me)

Yeah, yeah, the CGI is still unfinished. One question, though: Will Rhythm and Hues be able to finish it all before the premiere? It's almost just a month left.

Another thing, when the Hulk is roaring as he rips the car in half... listen. It really clashes and he sounds almost like a teenager at voice change or a woman.

Sadly, I had forgot that this trailer was coming soon.:csad: So seeing it online surprised the heck out of me.

I LOVED IT!! Of course all the Banner scenes looked great. But I was just more excited over the Hulk smashing out of the tunnel, the fight with Emil (kick I mean) the end battle with Abomination, especially when they both leapt towards the helicopter. Hulk ripping the car in half. Priceless!:bh:

I don't care if those CGI shots were finished or not. I'm a fan of the movie regardless and this trailer just proved that I'm going to be in for a treat come June. My girlfriend, who doesn't read alot of Marvel, even had the "oh that's awesome face" after watching the trailer. I have in no doubt this will attract some more positive attention. Well that's just my thoughts.:woot:

hey guys.. there is someone of you that can tell me what Tim Roth says in min 1.47? he talks so bad!

I was underwhelmed actually. The CGI is really bad and it's nothing that I haven't seen before.

Concerning the CGI, I can't help but to think: Is this all they've done to improve the CGI since the teaser?

Damn, are you always this tough on CGI in movies, or were your expectations for the Hulk incredibly high?

From what i know, he took the shirt off to cover up from inhaling the gas.

Welcome to the boards, Snow Walker! To address your question, it's not a mistake. Over at the New York Comic-Con, they showed us half of the action sequence this scene takes place in. He DOES take off his jacket.

"Sir, if you're taking another crack at him, I want in."

...

"Let's even the playing field."
