It would be sweet to get an arkham style game with missions and the open world play.
Why does beenox continue to be allowed to make mediocre games?:/
Source? I thought Activision had to make a game every 3-4 years.

They should get Rocksteady to make a new Spider-Man game. Not likely but that would be amazing. At least they should give it to some talented team and give it a lot development time. The main thing that a Spider-Man game needs is open-world. If that is not in the game I'm not buying.
I'd be happy if it was naughty dog or insomniac
Had you asked me a couple weeks ago, this would be a "hell yes" for me. After Arkham Knight though, I'd want to see Rocksteady make another game before they'd get their hands on a Spider-Man license, just to see that Rocksteady isn't out of steam and creative ideas. Because Arkham Knight seriously got me to feel that their minds weren't on the "exciting and fun" side with that game's main- and side missions and overall gameplay. Some characters really getting the shaft as well. It's too bad how their trilogy ended on such a "meh" note.
I still say Platinum would be great if it wasn't for how they've never really created a free roam game.
Insomniac could be interesting but they're not among the best devs out there in my opinion.
Naughty Dog are some of the best devs, but they have talked about how more linear games are preferred by them. I also don't think they'd be interested in a license super hero game.
Yeah I didn't think ND would ever wanna do it, more like a pipedream kinda thing. Especially since it's a sony CE subsidiary (although I guess that doesn't really matter).Insomniac could be interesting but they're not among the best devs out there in my opinion.

I'm still interested in seeing what Avalanche Studios might do if they had the rights.
Maybe Rocksteady just got bored with Batman![]()
I haven't played AK yet as I won't have a PS4 until this coming holiday season but...I've heard it's not as great as AC.
I agree that ND probably wouldn't do a licensed game. They seem to enjoy their freedom too much and why not, they do a heck of a job doing what they do.
If I got to pick a developer for a Spidey game, I'd go with Sucker Punch. Not sure how well they know Spider-Man as a character and his history, but they have done very well with action/free roam.
I can highly recommend The Last of Us!Yeah I didn't think ND would ever wanna do it, more like a pipedream kinda thing. Especially since it's a sony CE subsidiary (although I guess that doesn't really matter).
As for insomniac, their Sunset Overdrive style could lend to a fun comic-y spidey game I think.
Yeah, I think that might be the case. Or they simply tried too hard to be different from Arkham City by the heavy use of Bat tank gameplay, and everything else became peripheral. I mean, it's a good game no doubt, but in my opinion highly disappointing after two of the best games ever in my eyes.
Great to hear that you will get a PS4!I can highly recommend The Last of Us!
About Sucker Punch, I know a game director or someone of that team mentioned Spider-Man as a character he'd like to create a game for. I doubt Spider-Man would become a first party game though. Also, while Sucker Punch sure can create exciting stories, I still feel there is something lacking in their games. In my opinion the main- and side missions as well as the power sets have been pretty lacking in variation.
Agreed about Naughty Dog. But other than that, they'd be perfect when it comes to tone and characterization, as I think the Uncharted series has shown, as well as mixing serious stuff like in The Last of Us. If they'd be interested in Spider-Man, we'd be in for a ride!
t:, but, yes, it is an exceptional game and of course it's by ND. I would definitely be excited if it was announced they would be developing a AAA-title for Spider-Man but I think that is quite a longshot if there ever was one. I'll still probably play AK anyway despite the groans because I loved AA and AC so much. Maybe it's better if I go into it with lowered expectations.
Sucker Punch came to mind as a good developer because of how much I love their Infamous series (haven't played Second Son though) and felt they could give Spidey a good game. I also, read that somewhere they would be interested in making a Spidey game. I'm not confident they would be the absolute best available candidate for a AAA-title but imo they'd serve as a notable step up from Beenox and Activision.

I came in here to post this because last time I checked, nobody had suggested them, which I thought was crazy!
If any of you have ever played or seen any Just Cause, you know there's not only a lot of action, but a lot of aerial moments and tethering which closely resembles web shooting.
Watch a trailer of Just Cause 2 and you'll recognize it right away. They're the perfect studio to make a Spider-Man game.
And it's possible too. From what I heard, they said they were doing a game based on a movie series, which turned out to be Mad Max, and also a comic book game. I wonder what comic book character that could be...
