which could culminate in one or several awesome fusion type attacks in the avengers 2 :D

Now imagine how much more epic stuff like that is gonna be in A2 after the heroes have "unleashed".

That one long take was the definition of iconic.

True, but I'm not gonna lie Thor and Hulk's combination attack could've been better.

c'mon guys dig into the phase 1 box set and lemme know about the exclusive footage

Someone on the IMDB boards claims to have watched the movie at an early screening.
It's pretty interesting what he had to say:

First 30-40 min were awesome, plane scene, Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, and home scene.
After that, 40-110 min was all about the extremis virus. Tony Stark had no home, no Iron Man, nothing.
Final 110 - 130 min were again awesome, Iron Man army, and some fighting scenes.
130-140 min Credits

I just hated extremis virus. Tony Stark has now super powers, can control every Iron Man costumes and do more stuff. Bad guys gives him power, then Tony Stark escapes, calls Iron Man army, and Iron Man army kicks villain ass.(Kinda lika Wolverine)
First 40 min is Iron Man movie
Another 90 min is just about extremis virus, while Tony Stark tries to find out what is going on.

I'm disappointed.
bioshock0706, first 40 min is better than Iron Man 2.
Then 90 min is worse than Iron Man 2.
Final action is better than Iron Man 2.
Well, maybe some people like Iron Man 3 more than Iron Man 2. Just my opinion.
Those who like that Tony Stark turns to super human, well, those people going to like that.

Also, The Mandarin will be infected too, so, The Mandarin fights against Iron Man just with hands.

So how do you guys feel about the first trailer for "The Wolverine"?

Looks cool. At least they finally realized that if you want the stakes to be your lead character's life, you should probably make him - y'know, not immortal.

I forget, what did you say about this?

As soon as the first set photo of the "Advanced Idea Mechanics" logo was leaked, I said that Killian would wind up attached to them as the CEO of the company. I said it would be some kind of tech company, so I'm off on that one: it sounds now like AIM is some kind of research & development fund that funnels the money into Maya's Extremis project.

So this takes place after X3 and before Days of Future Past. So I'm assuming the lost of Wolverine's healing factor power is a result of his confrontation with Dark Phoenix pushing his abilities to the limit. I'd imagine by the end of this film his powers will be restored.

The middle part of this makes sense considering Feige and Black compared this to a Tom Clancy Espionage film.

What made you think he's be CEO?

Uh, it sounds like that company took his powers away, considering he had them in the beginning of the trailer.

it explains right there in the trailer that the guy takes away his healing factor. nothing to do with phoenix

Yeah that old guy talking about Wolverine saving his life has a company that tries to help make Wolvie mortal.

I'm betting that guy is just trolling, because at least one major detail of his "summary" is wrong....
The plane scene is much later in the movie. In the Extended Superbowl Spot, there is this HUD scene after he's flown out of the plane, where his face and more specifically his left are pretty bloodied. He doesn't have this injury after crashlanding in Tennessee......

If one of you don't mind can you get a screen grab of the scene where Killian flips IM in the trailer.

I want to see which Iron Man armor he's fighting in that scene, I'm thinking Mark 42

Doesn't look like Mark 42 to me.

Looks like the same armor he jumps into off the crane (Hypervelocity, most likely).

You mean Stealth Armor most likely. the hypervelocity helmet and shoulders look nothing like the one from the crane scene and everything like the stealth armor

Sounds like it may be legit, but this guy is hating on the main part of the Extremis story from the comics. He seemed pissed about exactly what most fans are going to enjoy. He also has some details mixed up in terms of when they happen in the film.

Also, it seems like a lot of people hate the parts of superhero movies that have to do with character development. Not every second is going to be consumed with action. As long as the plot is advanced and the scenes are important, I don't see the problem with focusing on the characters.
