Discuss news, rumors, speculation and casting for Crystalia Amaquelin, aka Crystal, younger sister of Medusa, the Queen of the Inhumans. Crystal has the ability to control the four elements --- earth, air, fire and water --- and has a long history of teaming up with some of Earth's greatest supergroups, including the Fantastic Four and the Avengers (she married Quicksilver and raised a family with him).

I'm dying to see aaron Taylor johnsons quicksilver interact with crystal. This is going to be amazing! I hope Holliday garainger gets the job

In that picture, Crystal looks like she is wearing nothing but bodypaint and gloves.

Anyways, yeah, I think there definitely needs to be some interaction with Quicksilver at some point.

That's what I was going to say. I know that's not uncommon for comicbook characters, but that's still a little extreme. Most of the images of the character aren't like that.

Anyway, on topic, but how about Kristen Bell? Or would it be better to get someone closer to the age of Aaron Taylor Johnson (although to be honest, Kristen Bell looks like she hasn't aged since Veronica Mars).

It's Boris Vallejo....what do you expect. :oldrazz:

BTW, it's going to be hard for there to be any blonde actors left after they've all been fancasted into Captain Marvel.

Along with Lockjaw, Crystal is the Inhumans character I am most looking forward to seeing on the big screen. With elemental powers, Crystal has the opportunity to make us forget the horrible M Night Shamalan adaptation of the Last Airbender series. Crystal gives the MCU another female powerhouse with Captain Marvel, and one who could film the role of Storm in their connected universe.

I'm probably being too sensitive to this, but Marvel characters are far more than their abilities. I've never thought Crystal and Storm had much in common. Certainly not to the point where they'd be substitutes, short of an unusually specific weather-related need. Storm's role in this universe is either with the X-Men (obviously not relevant) or with Black Panther. I think that Crystal would probably be a poor substitute for Storm there (although if there are any T'Challa/Crystal shippers out there, let me know).

Maybe it's my limited experience with the character, but she always struck me as fairly meek and timid. Certainly not a Carol Danvers level powerhouse (regardless of her abilities).

In comparing Crystal to Storm, I'm definitely thinking in terms of power displays rather than personality. She is more the kid sister than the team leader. In " The Legend of Korra" the elemental attacks are absolute beautifully animated, and I think that Crystal could shine in the proper live action setting.

Crystsl has never been considered a powerhouse in the comics, but given her control over air, fire, water and earth, she probably should have been.

But it's not who has the abilities, it's how they use them that's most important. That's why Crystal isn't a powerhouse. She doesn't have the same command over her powers or willingness to use them as Storm. She just doesn't have that presence.

They have similar powers, but play very different roles.

I think Crystal certainly can't exude as much authority as the actress playing Medusa. She has to be a bit more of a girl. Not sure who.

Maybe one of the Olsen twins. :o Then Pietro will say when kissing her "hey, funnily enough you look rather like my sister!" :o :p

My understanding is Chrystal was an Elemental. Earth , wind , fire and water control. I do not recall a comic run where the Full extent of her powers were displayed. I would want to see her portrayed as a very young adult; the angst of having reached adulthood and perfecting her powers and personality in conflict with Blackbolts almost fatherly holding her back.

Should Crystal get together with Quicksilver eventually, and do they need to cast this actress to also have chemistry with Aaron Taylor Johnson and not just her Inhuman co-stars?

I admit to not being totally up to speed on Agents of Shield as they are several weeks behind in the UK, but I like the theory that Skye is inhuman, and could even be Crystal.

Skye may turn out to be Inhuman in origin, but my guess is that all of the members of the royal family are off the table until the movie comes out.

Specifically, Joss Whedon has said they don't like making it so that people have to watch the shows to understand the movies, which is why Coulson is a persona non grata in the MCU proper right now. I don't think they'd do something like introduce a main character in the Inhumans movie in a TV show. Especially not four years before the movie.

I wonder btw if Quicksilver might appear in this since it's unlikely he and Scarlet Witch are getting a movie.

How young is Crystal suppose to be in the comics?

When she first appeared in the comics she was around the same age as Johnny Storm (who after Spider-Man, was Marvel's other big high profile teen hero at the time), so probably 16-18.

Hmmm, maybe they could snatch up Chloe Moretz for the role.

She's already been in a superhero movie but got cut. She could still be in Amazing Spider-Man if she wanted.

And she didn't say she wanted to be Crystal though, just in a Marvel movie.

Oh I know, I was just throwing her name in the hat. I doubt she wants anything to do with Sony after that fiasco.
